Your future crown is an immortal body
We update studies as the Lord Jesus leads us. You can find the latest update of this study at ChurchAges.net
A perfect body that serves Jesus without ever letting Him down will be the crowning achievement of your Christian walk
First published on the 12th of October 2023 — Last updated on the 16th of October 2023REVELATION 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Do we understand the real meaning of what a throne represents?
Of course, there are multi-millions of Christians that overcame during the 2000 years of church history, so then there will be a massive crowd sitting on the throne of Jesus!
Something does not quite make sense.
At the coronation of King Charles of England, Queen Camilla had a very anxious time because she was scared that the crown would fall off her head. It is not always much fun wearing a crown.
So, what does a crown represent in the Bible?
A crown in Heaven is a symbol that represents an eternal, immortal body that cannot die and is free from pain and sickness. A body that cannot age and grow weaker.
This is the crowning reward of your Christian life and faith.
56-0304 MAKING A WAY
“When you're sick and tired of this whole life, and you love the appearing of the Lord Jesus better than you love your food at the table, or your wife, or your children, then there's a crown laid up for you,
not a crown, a gold crown they put upon your head, but a body free from pain
of... crowned in the glory of God, crowned in the immortality of Jesus Christ”.
Your future crown will be a pain-free body
REVELATION 4:4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
24 elders. The original 12 apostles of the New Testament with Paul replacing Judas and the 12 patriarchs of the Old Testament tribes.
White robes. Spotlessly clean. Washed from all sin in the Blood of Jesus Christ.
When the seven dominant colours in the rainbow combine, then they form white light.
White means that the Bride from all seven church ages have combined together in the resurrection and the Second Coming when they are caught up to meet the Lord in the air.
The white robes of the elders are the righteousness of the saints.
REVELATION 19:8 “And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints”.
REVELATION 4:10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
Casting down their crowns is the same as their immortal bodies falling down to the floor in front of Jesus. They owe everything to Him. They achieved nothing in their own strength. Yet a glorious immortal body is their reward.
II TIMOTHY 4:8 “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness [stephanos], which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing”.
A crown of righteousness. An immortal body that cannot sin will be given to each saint. That means they will be righteous forever and never sin again.
Each person will live with a clear conscience and no regrets.
These crowns will only be given at the end of the seventh church age. It is wrong for a Christian to wear a crown before then. The Lord must give each of us that crown, it cannot be given by some church group.
This is the triple crown that was wrongly worn by the Popes for about 650 years until they abandoned it in 1963.
I PETER 5:4 “And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory [stephanos] that fadeth not away”.
A crown of glory. Your new immortal body will never age and never grow weak. Physically, you will always be at your best. Mentally you will be far cleverer than what you are now. And that will never change. You will glory in your mastery of the understanding of Scripture.
But God’s thinking is much deeper than our shallow, worldly thinking.
The crown will not be some object that we wear on our heads. A crown on our heads is just a symbol that we will be given an immortal body that will never know pain or death. That is the real crown to reward us for serving Him.
In the same way, a sword coming out of His mouth is just a symbol of Jesus speaking the Word of God.
I THESSALONIANS 2:19 “For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?”
Our bodies will be changed just before the Lord comes. The “crown of rejoicing” will unite us with the resurrected saints and the living saints as we are swept up off this earth. That union between the saints will last for eternity.
I CORINTHIANS 15:52 “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed”.
I THESSALONIANS 4:16 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words”.
When our bodies change we will be swept up to Heaven into a new life that will be far more glorious than what we can imagine at this stage.
We cannot be crowned with a new body unless we remain very Scriptural. We must seek to puzzle out the mysteries of God in order to gain a mastery of the understanding of Scripture.
I CORINTHIANS 4:1 “Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
The mysteries (plural) of God enable us to understand the Bible and thus be restored to the beliefs of the first church age. That is the mystery (singular) of God.
:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful”.
To be a steward of the mysteries we must prove them just from the Holy King James Bible.
REVELATION 10:7 “ But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished”
It is not enough to know the mysteries (plural) of God. We must finish the mystery (singular) of God. We must contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints. They never had pastors in charge of churches in the first church age. The first church buildings that were discovered were built around AD 220. The early church were hunted down by the pagan Romans and never built church buildings. They met in houses or in the open fields.
II TIMOTHY 2:5 “And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully”.
We have to return to the beliefs of saint Paul.
Paul’s converts were his joy and his crown as they will be with him for eternity. We will be with them if we believe what they believed.
PHILIPPIANS 4:1 “Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved”.
An incorruptible body will be the crowning achievement of our Christian lives. But we must be careful to behave and speak well at all times in a Scriptural manner.
I CORINTHIANS 9:24 “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain”.
:25 “And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible”
Remember, before the crown comes the cross.
We must first stand the test of faith and endure suffering.
JOHN 19:5 “Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns”
