Understanding the times of Daniel's 70 Weeks

The command to build Jerusalem's wall in 446 BC, until Jesus was anointed as the Messiah after His was baptism in AD 29.

First published on the 14th of January 2020 — Last updated on the 2nd of July 2021

Jews are given 490 Bible years. The same as 483 Gentile years

DANIEL 9:24   Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

DANIEL 9:25   Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

DANIEL 9:26   And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

DANIEL 9:27   And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

70 x 7 = 490 days

But a day, in prophecy, can also refer to a year.

Laban said to Jacob:

GENESIS 29:27   Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.

If a week is 7 days, then that week of 7 days represents 7 years.

So a day can represent a year.

A Bible year is 360 days long.

REVELATION 11:2   But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

:3   And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

A score is twenty. Threescore = 3 x 20 = 60

So, if 1260 days = 42 months

Then, 1260 / 42 = 30

Thus, 1 Bible month = 30 days

Thus, a Bible year or Jewish year is 12 x 30 = 360 days long.

So 69 of our Gentile years of 365.24 days has  5.24 x 69 = 361 extra days.

This is within half of one percent of the length of a Jewish year.

So, 69 Gentile years = 70 Bible years.

The basic rule is that every 70 Bible years is equal to one less or 69 of our Gentile years.

490 Bible years  =  490 / 70 = 7 years less on our Gentile calendar.

490 Bible years =  490 – 7 = 483 Gentile years.

So this prophecy lasts for 483 of our Gentile years.

When does the prophecy start?

Persian king Cyrus allowed the Jews to lay the Temple foundation in 536 BC.

The Temple was finished in 516 BC in the reign of Darius.

Ezra brought the Temple treasure back in 459 BC.

Nehemiah finally got the command to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem in 446 BC. It was a troubled time as they were subject to attacks from their enemies.

DANIEL 9:25   Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

This is not to rebuild the Temple.

The Temple was built first before Ezra got his commission to take the treasure back to the Temple.

EZRA 6:15   And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

Darius was king from 521 – 486 BC.

521       520      519      518      517     516 BC

1st         2nd      3rd     4th       5th     6th  year of the reign of Darius.

So, by about 516 BC the Temple was rebuilt.

It took 4 years to actually build the Temple, but their enemies stopped the building for 17 years.

There was then a gap of about 56 years before Ezra arrived in 459 BC with the Temple treasure.

EZRA 7:15   And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counselors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem,

:16   And all the silver and gold that thou canst find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem:

:27   Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, which hath put such a thing as this in the king's

heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem:

EZRA 7:8   And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.

Artaxerxes became king in 465 BC.

465       464      463      462      461    460    459 BC

1st         2nd      3rd     4th       5th      6th     7th  year of the reign of Artaxerxes

So, the commandment he gave Ezra to beautify the Temple with treasure was about 459 BC.

Ezra brought back the treasure but this had nothing to do with rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem, nor with rebuilding the gates as that is where each street met the wall.

Thirteen years later in 446 BC, Nehemiah arrived to build the wall.

The wall of Jerusalem was still broken down. This was the concern of Nehemiah.

NEHEMIAH 1:3   And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.

DANIEL 9:25   … the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

Troublous times. Nehemiah built the wall in 52 days with the Jews having to arm themselves as they built because of enemy attacks.

NEHEMIAH 4:8   And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.

NEHEMIAH 4:17   They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.

Nehemiah was given his commission in Nehemiah Chapter 2 in the 20th year of Artaxerxes.

NEHEMIAH 2:1   And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king,

The red numbers show how many years he reigned.

Artaxerxes became king in 465 BC so his twentieth year would be 446 BC in our Gentile or Roman calendar that was modified by Julius Caesar so that the calendar matched the seasons.

In the above table the black numbers are the BC years and the red numbers are the number of years of the king’s reign.

The prophecy starts in 446 BC, so when does it end?

DANIEL 9:25   Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks:

Jesus is the Messiah.

Messiah means Anointed One.

Jesus was anointed publicly when He was baptized and the Holy Spirit came down to rest on Him like a dove.

LUKE 3:22   And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

ACTS 10:38   How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

LUKE 3:23     And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age,

The prophecy concerning the Coming of Messiah ends around AD 30.

Let us check.

Dates were fixed from the time a Roman emperor began to rule.

The most famous emperor was Augustus who died in AD 14.

Later that year the Senate declared his adopted son Tiberius to be the new emperor.

[A few comments on Tiberius being appointed emperor.

Augustus was the grandson of the sister of Julius Caesar. He had hypocritically seized supreme power by pretending that the Roman senate had approved him. He had terrorized Rome as he rose to power by his extreme cruelty and love of murder. The senate was too scared not to offer him the position of emperor. To act out the farce, he made a law that only the senate could approve the emperor. But they first had to find out from him what he wanted them to approve, and then they did just as he said. He appointed his adopted son Tiberius as his co-ruler in AD 12. That did not automatically make Tiberius emperor when Augustus died in AD 14.

By Roman law, the Senate first had to approve him and offer him the position.

This was tricky for three reasons.

  1. First, Augustus had been the first-ever emperor of Rome, and thus there was no precedent for appointing a successor.
  2. Secondly, Augustus and Tiberius pretended that they were not kings. Only a king can pass his title onto his son. An emperor cannot. The Romans hated kings. Julius Caesar who had adopted Augustus as his son, had been assassinated because people were scared that he would make himself king. He had already made himself dictator for life.
In Roman law, the son had to be authorized as emperor by the senate after his (adopted) father’s death. That way the emperor, who ruled as a king, played out the farce that he was not a king. So, although Tiberius was co-emperor he did not automatically become emperor.
  3. Thirdly, Augustus had a grandson Agrippa Posthumus who had been accused of plotting against him. Augustus imprisoned him on a remote island near Corsica, called Planasia. In AD 13 Augustus visited him and showed warm signs of being reconciled to him. Since Agrippa was a direct descendant of Augustus, and not adopted like Tiberius was, many felt that Agrippa should be the next emperor.

So, when Augustus died in AD 14, Agrippa had to be immediately killed to ensure that there was no competitor to take the position of emperor away from Tiberius. Tiberius hushed up the murder and only then revealed to the senate that Augustus was dead. They then went through the farcial role-play of offering to make him emperor but he kept pretending to refuse, for over a month. Eventually, he made a pretense of accepting the position reluctantly. So only in AD 14 did the senate confirm Tiberius as emperor.]

LUKE 3:1   Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar,

:2  … the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

15 years after the year AD 14 brings us to AD 29.

When John finished his ministry by baptizing Jesus it was close to 30 AD.

This is a very accurate check on the finishing date of about AD 30.

The prophecy started in 446 BC and ended almost in AD 30 which is a total of 476 years.

But the total time length of 69 weeks (7 + 62 weeks = 69 weeks) is 69 x 7 =  483 days or years.

So when Jesus came on the scene there were  483 – 476 = 7 years left to the Jews.

DANIEL 9:25     Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks:

There are two time periods.  One of 7 weeks = 7 x 7 days =  49 days (or years).

Dr. Scofield placed the ministry of Malachi at 397 BC.

Malachi would be 49 years after the prophecy to build the wall was given.

Halfway through the last week, the seventieth week, Messiah would be cut off and killed.

A "time" is 7 weeks =  7x7 = 49 years    (taking a day as a year)

"Times" are 62 weeks  =  62 x 7 = 434 years

So, after 446 BC the Jews still had a time period of 49 years in which they could expect to hear from God by means of a prophet.

This was followed by a time of silence for 62 weeks.    62 x 7 = 434 Jewish years.

Much political unrest occurred in this time as the Greeks destroyed the Persian empire.

The Jews briefly became independent for about 100 years before they got conquered by Rome in 63 BC. Their hatred of Rome made them long for a Messiah who could destroy the Romans. Thus, they missed the Prince of Peace when He came.

Political activism destroys spiritual discernment.

The prophet-less time period ended in AD 29 when John the Baptist burst onto the scene to complete the 62 weeks.

After the 62 weeks, Jesus began His 3½  year ministry.

Then He was cut off at Calvary. He did not die for Himself, He died for our sins so that we could be saved.

DANIEL 9:26  And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

The Romans under general Titus waged a brutal war in AD 70 against the Jews and destroyed the Temple as well as the city of Jerusalem. This massive slaughter of 1100000 Jews showed the depth of hatred between Rome and the Jews.

“And the people of the prince that shall come”.

It was Romans who destroyed the Temple and the city of Jerusalem.

So, the final antichrist prince must also come from Rome. He will be the last Pope.

The word “end” is mentioned twice.

Daniel’s style of prophecy is to take a future event and then use that to reflect right to the end as it exposes the final antichrist man of sin and his religious-political-financial system.

In Daniel Chapters 7 and 8 he refers to the antichrist system as the “little horn”. A horn is a power. The Vatican City is the smallest state on earth with less than 800 citizens and only 1 square kilometer of territory. Yet it is the nerve centre of the biggest world-wide church system which is also the wealthiest organization on earth. That is what makes it an attractive target for Satan when he is finally kicked out of Heaven. Satan then enters the man of sin who will usurp the position of Pope, probably calling himself Peter the Second. So, the “little horn” warns us about the Roman Catholic church that is ruled by the little Vatican City. The Pope is the only dictator in Europe.

DANIEL 9:26   … and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

Right at the end, the antichrist will have all the numbers on his side. When President Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel the United Nations voted against that idea by 128 to 9.

Thus, the nations are gathering against Israel.

EZEKIEL 38:16   And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

In the end, there will be a flood of people on the side of the final Roman Pope who go up to fight against Israel.

Meanwhile, in this great Tribulation time, two prophets Moses and Elijah will interrupt the laws of nature to protect the 144000 Jews.

EZEKIEL 38:22   And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

So, the final battle between the Jews and the antichrist Roman Pope will be a scene of much desolation.

Christ confirmed the 7-year covenant by ending the sacrifices

DANIEL 9:27   And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

“he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week”. God promised the Jews seven years of the ministry of Jesus.

“and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease”.

The middle of 7 is  3½.

Halfway through these seven years, Jesus would be cut off. In other words, He had a  3½  year ministry.

That is when all the Temple sacrifices and Temple worship lost their meaning.

The veil of the Temple was torn up.

The Old Testament that was based on Law and works was over and the New Testament based on grace through faith in the written Word and in the Scriptural works of Christ started.

Thus Jesus had a ministry of 3½  years.

And the Jews are still owed  3½  years by God. This will be the Tribulation period.

In between these two halves of the last week we have the seven church ages.

The Holy Spirit came down on the Day of Pentecost to launch the seven church ages and then goes up to Heaven when the Spirit catches the Bride up to Heaven. Then the Tribulation starts.

The 7 Thunders produce the Harvest or Latter Rain

The former rain is the teaching rain where brother Branham came to reveal the mysteries of written Scripture. This began in 1947 when he started to tape-record his sermons.

Since 1966 we have lived in the days of the voice of the seventh angel as we learn how to take those recorded sermons on the tapes and books or via the internet, back to Scripture, even though he left the scene in 1965.

The Harvest is when the seed is pulled off the plant.

The harvest rain, or latter rain, starts when the dead-in-Christ get pulled out of their graves at the resurrection and ends about 40 days later when the full Bride is pulled off the earth and caught up to Heaven.

During those 40-odd days, the seven Thunders will guide the living Bride in order for them to achieve the changing of their bodies. Only in your immortal body will you achieve rapturing faith. This present body cannot be raptured.

There will be about a month of overlap between the former and the latter rains as the living Bride is taught the secrets of how to achieve rapturing faith.

JOEL 2:23   Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

The natural latter rain in Israel falls chiefly in the months of March and April, just before the harvest.

Consider the length of the ministry of Jesus, 3.5 years

He got baptized towards the end of the year AD 29.

He died at Passover which is about April AD 33.

In order to have a ministry of 3 years, He must be on earth for four Passovers.

But John only lists 3 Passovers that occur around March/April.

JOHN 2:13   And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

(the first Passover during the ministry of Jesus)   AD 30

JOHN 5:1   After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

AD 31

JOHN 6:4   And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.

AD 32

JOHN 13:1   Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come.

AD 33

John 2:13 is the first Passover which would be in mid-March AD 30 as Jesus had been baptized close to the end of AD 29.

Then later on in that year Jesus passes through the city of Sychar in Samaria.

He speaks to the Samaritans and tells them that their natural harvest will occur in four months time.

John 4:5   Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar,

John 4:35    Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest?

So, when was Jesus in Sychar? In what month did this happen that year?

The Jewish year was broken up into six two-month periods. Each period began and ended about the middle of the month.

Winter Spring Harvest Summer Extreme Heat SeedTime. Planting
Dec, Jan Feb, March April, May June, July Aug, Sept Oct, Nov
Passover. Pentecost Tabernacles.
Unleavened Bread. Day of Atonement.
Firstfruits. Trumpets.
3 FEASTS 1 FEAST 3 FEASTS

As you can see there were three times in the year that the Jews had to have feasts.

EXODUS 23:17   Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord GOD.

Jesus spoke to the Samaritans at Sychar and said that there were four months to the harvest which started in mid-April.

Four months before mid-April would be mid-December.

So, John Chapter 4 has Jesus in Sychar in winter during December.

As a result, all the feasts of the next year lie ahead of Him.

The feast of Passover comes first.

So, if the feast of John 5:1 refers to any of the other feasts, then that feast would be after the feast of Passover. Thus, there would have been a Passover feast before the feast of John 5:1 occurred.

Thus, John’s Gospel refers to four Passovers which cover a time period of three years.

Passover is in mid-March or mid-April which is 3 to 4 months into the new year.

Thus, Jesus was baptized about 2 to 3 months before the end of the old year, around mid-October.

His total ministry would then be 3½ years, as required by the prophet Daniel.

DNA.  4 Gospels join the strands of the Old and New Testaments

ROMANS 15:8   Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

God had made promises to the Jews but these promises had to be confirmed.

GALATIANS 3:17   And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ,

A covenant must be "made" before it can be "confirmed".

God made a covenant with Abraham and his natural seed (Isaac and the Jews).

Then God confirmed the covenant at Calvary with the spiritual Seed of Abraham, Who was Christ.

Three animals had to be cut in half and the two halves were placed facing each other.

This reminds one of DNA, the language of natural life, where two chains are coiled or twisted around each other like a helix or spring, and held together by four bases that are usually labeled G, C, A, and T. (guanine, cytosine, adenine, and thymine).

Compare this to the King James Version of the Bible which is the language of eternal Life.

The green and blue DNA chains represent the New Testament and the Old Testament that are coiled or intertwined together. The New Testament is contained in the Old Testament. The Old Testament is fulfilled in the New Testament. The two Testaments are intertwined.

But what holds the two Testaments together is the ministry of Jesus Christ. His ministry is revealed in the four Gospels, where only Jesus knew what was going on. Nobody else grasped the big picture as Jesus outwitted Satan when it seemed on the surface that Satan was winning.

So, the four Gospels represent the four "bases".

There are four beasts around the throne in Revelation Chapter 4.

The Lion – Matthew, the tax collector, showing Jesus as the King who was betrayed for 30 pieces of silver. Kingdoms run on taxes. Matthew kept an eye on the finance. You will battle to get past him if you do not pay your tithes.

The Ox – Mark 6:31 shows where Jesus is the suffering Servant who battled even to find time to eat as He prepared for His main service which was paying for our sins when He died. Then He had to take them down to hell in order to dump them on the Devil.

The Man - Luke showing Jesus as the perfect Man who saved the dying thief and forgave the prodigal son who had wasted his life. Luke 4:25-27 tells us of Elijah and Elisha interacting with Gentiles as a clue that God would turn one day to the Gentiles to establish His church as the spiritual Body of the Man Jesus.

The Eagle – John shows Jesus as God Who focuses on the spiritual more than the natural. In John 6:66 the mark of the beast is not a physical mark. It is the mark in people’s brain-washed minds when they stopped following Jesus as a Man in those days. Or when people stop following Jesus as the revealed Bible in our days.

JOHN 6:66   From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

John has a spiritual Gospel, revealing Jesus as God. The evidence of the Holy Ghost baptism is the ability of the individual to be guided into the full truth of the revealed Bible.

JOHN 16:13   Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:

These four Gospels reveal the heart of God's plan of salvation.

The four Gospels formed the foundation for the Book of Acts.

The Acts of the Holy Spirit as He worked in the hearts of born-again people.

The four chambers of the heart represent the four beasts.

Thus the repentant heart is the throne that Jesus seeks to sit upon.

In Revelation Chapter 4 there are also 24 elders sitting around the throne.

The 12 patriarchs of the 12 tribes of Israel and the 12 apostles, with Paul taking the place of Judas.

These 24 elders are represented by the 24 human ribs.

"Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven", says the Lord's prayer.

So Jesus ruling on earth in human hearts is the closest that we can get to the great throne in Heaven.

So the ministry of Jesus comes between the two halves of the Bible, the New Testament, and the Old Testament.

Confirming the Covenant that was made with Abraham

A ram saved Isaac from natural death when Abraham was going to kill him.

The ram symbolizes the coming of the Lord Jesus to save us from the second death, the spiritual death, which is the lake of fire.

GENESIS 15:18   In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land,

GENESIS 15:9   And he [God] said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.

A woman is a symbol of a church, a group of believers. The true church is referred to as the Bride of Christ. Two female animals symbolize two religious groups that will emerge as believers following the sacrifice of Jesus.

First, the New Testament church, mainly Gentiles, lives through the seven church ages. Then secondly there will be the 144000 Jews who accept Jesus during the 3.5 years of great Tribulation.

A goat represents Jesus as the scapegoat, in Leviticus 16, carrying the sins of the church far away down to hell in order to dump them on the Devil.

The heifer, in Numbers 19, was burnt to ash which was added to water to make the water of separation that could cleanse. The ash is symbolic of the 3.5 years of great Tribulation fire in which the 144000 Jews, previously separated from God, are purified by the water of the Word.

The emphasis on "three" is because there are three ages of the restoration of the truth from the depths of the Dark Ages.

The fifth church age, Sardis, of Luther’s justification by faith. (1520 - 1750).

The sixth church age, Philadelphia, of Wesley’s holiness and outreach that led to the great missionary age.

(1750 - 1906).

The seventh church age, the Laodiceans when the Pentecostal Holy Ghost baptism was restored in 1904 in Wales and 1906 in America.  Then the hidden mysteries of the written Word were revealed by William Branham between 1947 and 1965.

The next picture shows the first four church ages.

The full truth of the first church age (Ephesus) was lost by the 2nd, 3rd, and fourth church ages as they sank into the Scripture-denying Dark Ages. These four church ages are described in Revelation Chapter 2 as the church moved away from the original church of the New Testament that was established by the apostles in the first church age.

Then in the 5th, 6th, and 7th church ages God would restore the church back to the New Testament truths of the first church age.

These three church ages of restoration are described in Revelation Chapter 3.

The emphasis on "3-year old" sacrifices means that God has always been mainly interested in the three ages of restoration of the original New Testament truth after it was lost in the Dark Ages.

These three church ages were especially important to God which is why the “three” was emphasized in the covenant. Christians should regard the revelation of the written mysteries in the Bible as being the most important process in their lives at the end time.

GENESIS 15:10   And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.

The beast’s bodies, cut in half, faced each other across a small gap. Symbolizing the gap between the two Testaments where Jesus was in charge of events because He alone knew what was happening.

The two birds represent salvation and healing. These two blessings cannot be separated from the sacrifice of Christ at Calvary. Thus the birds were not separated into two portions. If Christ can save us, He can also heal us.

GENESIS 15:11   And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away.

No denominational fowls are allowed to be part of Christ’s covenant with His Bride. Jesus is not interested in church traditions like Trinity, Christmas, and a pastor (mentioned only once in the New Testament and condemned six times in the Old Testament) suddenly emerging with no Scriptural authority to make himself the head of the church.

The carcass is the freshly slain meat as the churches kill the truth by rejecting the revealed mysteries of written Scripture. Only eagles who love the written Word will be given the necessary insight by God to use brother Branham’s quotes to enable them to understand the mysteries of the written Bible.

John the Baptist came that men could look through him and his statements or quotes in order to find Jesus.

JOHN 1:6   There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

JOHN 1:7   The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

We have to look through the quotes until we can see that what brother Branham is saying, is actually written in the Bible. We have to be able to link up all the Scriptures that are needed to prove a doctrine.

JOHN 1:8   He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

The quotes of William Branham are not the Word of God.

The quotes of William Branham are not to replace the Word of God.

The quotes of William Branham are meant to give us a revelation of what a doctrine means so that we can see this truth written in the various verses of the Bible as we move from one Scriptural verse to another. Each doctrine should start in Genesis and move through the Bible until it ends in Revelation.

ISAIAH 28:10   For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

MATTHEW 24:28   For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

The end-time eagles are attracted by the revealed mysteries of the written Word that are rejected by the churches. The fowls who want to be unscriptural will be chased away as they will not be able to run their ideas through the Bible.

We are unprofitable servants

GENESIS 15:12   And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.

Evening time. The end of the seventh church age is the most important time in church history.

A deep sleep symbolizes death.

It also symbolizes how helpless Abram was as he could not help at all in making the covenant.

Human works and effort are just a total waste of time.

When asked about the end time Jesus said

MATTHEW 24:4   ... Take heed that no man deceive you.

We humans are very self-centred, think that we are smart, and are thus easily fooled.

LUKE 17:10   So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

“Unprofitable”.

When we try our hardest to serve God, we still get more things wrong than what we get right.

Thus, we represent a loss to God. And He has to waste time cleaning up our mess. Meanwhile, we brag and think we are wonderful.

REVELATION 3:17   ... “And knoweth not that thou art ...  blind” says God to the church of the Laodiceans.

God put Abram fast asleep to get him out of the way. God alone can make the covenant.

"Horror of great darkness", the horror of dying in the darkness of sin and unbelief.

GENESIS 15:17  And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.

God emphasizes the evening time, the end of the seventh church age, our present dark and deceptive age.

The sun goes down and the world goes into darkness as the church moves away from the King James Version of the Bible.

This is the most critical time in church history. The first church age had the apostles to get them established.

Fifty years after brother Branham’s death we have the error and deception of seven church ages to mislead us. Ours is the end of the last age that Jesus was mainly concerned about.

All the parables and prophecies concerning the church at the end time rebuke us.

LUKE 18:8   Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Faith cometh from the written Word of God.

Very few today even regard the King James Bible as the Absolute.

Most people change or contradict certain verses.

In nature that is called "genetic modification" which breeds perversion.

GENESIS 15:17  And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.

Deep sleep represents death with the horror of the darkness of sin. This is the awful, choking smoke from the furnace of hell. We hate death because that is when we have to start paying for our sins.

But there is hope.

A burning Light between the two halves of the sacrifices.

What was that?

The great Holy Ghost, the Light of the world, left the Body of Jesus when He died and went down to hell between the New and the Old Testaments in order to defeat Satan, Death, and Hell.

The sacrifices were cut in half.

When Jesus died He was torn in half. His Body stayed on the cross but His Holy Ghost was torn out of Him and sent down to hell, as a burning Lamp, because He was carrying our sins.

He payed a price that we could never pay. He won a battle that we could never win.

There, alone, He won our salvation in the smoking furnace of hellfire and resurrected on the third day, a Sunday. The Light of the Gospel, that burning Lamp of the Holy Ghost that blazed even brighter after winning His great victory over Death, Hell, and the grave then struck the earth on a Sunday. “He has risen. Death is defeated”.

On a Sunday we wave the Firstfruits when we brag about Jesus from the pulpit because He was the First to be resurrected from the dead. Then He brought up the Old Testament saints with Him.

LEVITICUS 23:11   ... then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:

The firstfruits are the first handful of grain to get ripe.
:11   And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.

Saturday was the Sabbath. The morrow (or tomorrow) after the Sabbath was Sunday.

On a Sunday we should wave Jesus before the people. He alone can conquer sin and unbelief in our lives. We should not brag about men. We should not brag about a leader. We should not brag about churches. We should not brag about money.

We should only brag about what Jesus did. Because what He did then, He is more than able to do today.

JOHN 12:32   And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

All the focus, all the time must be on uplifting Jesus, not some other man.

The Holy Ghost is our Promise. Our Land is the Word of God

GENESIS 15:18   In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

The covenant was not with Abram. It was with Abram and his seed.

The natural seed was Isaac and the Jews, who were given a certain territory, the Promised Land.

The spiritual Seed of Abram is Christ and those who are born again of the Spirit of Christ, the true church.

ACTS 2:38   Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

:39   For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Our Promise is to receive the Holy Ghost. Our land is the Word of God.

This applies to our children as well.

The Holy Ghost baptism will enable us to understand the mysteries of Scripture.

Israel was the land between Egypt (the world) and Babylon (the denominational church system).

Spiritual Israel, the true believers, are not allowed to be worldly in dress or behavior.

Nor can the true church be involved in politics, pagan traditions, and man-made church beliefs like the denominational churches.

Today Christians are hooked on the prosperity Gospel. Their faith is judged by their bank account.

LUKE 6:24   But woe unto you that are rich!

MATTHEW 19:24   And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

The 7 churches in Asia represent the seven church ages that would dwell in the Word of God that was revealed for their day.

God's Promise of the Holy Spirit Who comes to reveal the Word.

JOHN 16:13   Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself;

The evidence of the Holy Spirit baptism is the ability to understand the written mysteries of Scripture, not to boast of oneself or one’s leader.

Thus in Christ, God confirmed the covenant that was made with Abram and his seed.
