Revelation 5:7 - The Lamb takes the Book

Jesus has 2 critical tasks to perform - Creator and Redeemer. Is it possible for one Person to perform both? Jesus can.

Lamb travels through time, not space, to take the Book

If Jesus is God, how can He take the Book from the right hand of God?

REVELATION 4:1   After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

“After this...”  This is after the 2,000 years of the 7 church ages are finished.

The 7 church ages are described in Revelation Chapters 2 and 3.

Jesus is the Door to Heaven. He alone gives eternal life to a believer. Eternal life is the passport to Heaven.

Without eternal life, you cannot live in Heaven.

The Door to Heaven opens when Jesus performs His Second Coming.

The dead saints from 2,000 years of church history are resurrected to life. The living saints who have been restored back to the early church beliefs are changed into immortal bodies.

MALACHI 4:5   Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet

before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

:6   And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children,

and the heart of the children to their fathers,

lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

A curse lingers. This is the radiation from atomic and nuclear bombs and missiles.

Before they fall, a prophet like Elijah will turn us Christian children at the end-time back to the New Testament beliefs of the apostolic fathers from the first church age.

MATTHEW 17:11    And Jesus answered and said unto them,

Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.

There is no one to follow Elias (Greek for Elijah) as he restores us back to believing the King James Version of the Bible, which is the most accurate translation of the Scriptures.  If we listen to him, we should be able to understand the Bible.

Then, these people who are restored to the beliefs of the early church, are caught up to meet Jesus in the air.

Those living saints who have been restored back to the early church beliefs will be changed into immortal bodies.

I CORINTHIANS 15:52   In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

I THESSALONIANS 4:16   For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:

and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

:17     Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,

to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The trumpet announces that John must be caught up to Heaven. He is the one individual who represents the entire church that gets caught up to Heaven.

“ …..and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter”-  Then we see the events that happen in Heaven once the true church (also called the Bride of Christ) has left this Earth.

REVELATION 4:2   And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

Full of the Holy Spirit, John looked around Heaven and saw one Person sitting on a throne. This Person was Almighty God. There was no Trinity. He did not see three People sharing a throne.

The first Chapter of Revelation introduced Jesus as the Almighty.

REVELATION 1:8   I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

REVELATION 4:8   And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy,

Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

He was the Son of Man Who physically saved the world at Calvary.

He is the Son of God Who supernaturally is bringing to pass the end time events for Jew and Gentile, now that the Wedding Feast is on in Heaven and the Tribulation has started down on Earth.

He is to come as the Son of David when He rules on earth as King, during the 1,000 years of the Millennium.

REVELATION 5:1   And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

For most places on Earth, property has title deeds to show who owns it. The title deeds tell us who has paid the price and bought the property. You cannot own a portion of the Earth without paying a price.

Here we see a Book which represents the title deeds to the whole Earth. This Book shows Who the Owner of the Earth is.

Adam owned the Earth at the beginning. It was his to rule and live in.

He lost this ownership when he chose to sin, and the title deeds of creation went back to the original Creator-Owner Who was God. In order for someone to claim the title deeds to the Earth, that person would have to destroy sin so that the Earth could be redeemed by innocent Blood and then cleansed by fire.

This cleansing by fire will happen in the 3.5 years of great Tribulation. A multitude of volcanos will burst forth. Mankind has already foolishly made the atomic and nuclear bombs and missiles that will perform part of that task. But we are all born as sinners, so we cannot cleanse ourselves from sin.

REVELATION 5:2   And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?

Now is the time for someone to step forward who can lay claim to the Earth.

Considering Allah, Buddha, Muhammed, Krishna, Confucius, Karl Marx, the Popes, the Arabs, the Palestinians, Atheists, doers of good deeds, mighty military men, powerful politicians, or denominational church leaders, who will win?

All of them have had a lot to say about their own credentials. Self-praise is a human weakness.

Now, the Supreme Judge is going to check how valid their claims are.

Can they produce the necessary goods and destroy sin and save the righteous?

REVELATION 5:3   And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

Surprise, surprise. No one steps forward.

There is absolutely no one who can even look on the Book.

Not Moses. Not Saint Peter. Not Saint Paul. Not William Branham. Absolutely no one. No human being can even open the Book, much less lay claim to the Book. That is how tough it is to destroy sin.

PSALM 51:5   Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

We are born of sex. Eternal life cannot be passed from parents to child by means of sex. So we are doomed from the start.

REVELATION 5:4   And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

John wept. The creation seemed lost. No one could step into the gap and pay the awful price that God demanded for the atonement of sin.

God was the Creator of the Earth. His standards are high. If you want to claim the title deeds of redemption for the Earth and its people, then you must pay the terribly high price.

No man could pay this price. So we must stop looking at any man for our safety.

REVELATION 5:5   And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold,

the Lion of the tribe of Juda,

the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

A lion is the king of the beasts.

Drawing3c

Jesus was a descendant of King David who was of the tribe of Judah (or Juda).

LUKE 3:23   And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli, ...

... LUKE 3:31   Which was the son of Melea, which was the son of Menan, which was the son of Mattatha, which was the son of Nathan, which was the son of David, ...

....LUKE 3:33   Which was the son of Aminadab, which was the son of Aram, which was the son of Esrom, which was the son of Phares, which was the son of Juda,

Jesus is the greatest King who descended from the great King David. The great King Jesus is the mighty Lion Who conquered sin which is our greatest enemy because it is sin that produced death and suffering.

REVELATION 5:6   And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

Now there is an unexpected change.

John looks for a Lion and sees a Lamb that takes the Book.

REVELATION 5:7   And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

John looks for a Lion. This is personification representing one task that Jesus did which was to create the world.

Drawing20b

But he sees a Lamb. This is also personification as Jesus also has to do the work of a Saviour.

What is going on? How can the mighty and dangerous Lion be a humble and weak Lamb?

Drawing20c

JOHN 1:29   The next day John [ the Baptist ] seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

The King, the Lion of Judah, won His greatest battle against Satan when He conquered him at Calvary.

ACTS 20:28   Take heed therefore unto yourselves, [the elders of the church of Ephesus] and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers,

to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Drawing50

King Jesus, the Lion, won His greatest victory when He died on the cross as the sacrificial Lamb.

Samson gave us a preview of Calvary when he won his greatest victory over the Philistines as he pulled down the pillars and died to himself.

Isaiah speaks about God.

ISAIAH 33:3   At the noise of the tumult the people fled;

at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered.

God was lifted up at Calvary.

God used Calvary to reconcile mankind to Himself.

ROMANS 5:10   For if, when we were enemies,

we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son,

much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Where was God when the Son of God, Jesus, died to reconcile us to God?

II CORINTHIANS 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself,

Please note, the Old Testament never says "God the Father".

The "Son of God" is the Man that the supernatural Father dwells in to manifest Himself.

Only Jesus could be that Man and fully manifest the attributes of God.

The Bible never says "God the Son" because God is not a man. God is a Spirit.

God only became "God the Father" when Jesus was born as the "Son of God".

God the Father, the supernatural Spirit, dwelled fully inside the Body of His Son, Jesus, Who was a human Man.

COLOSSIANS 2:9   For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

God had two roles to play. The Creator, the Lion King, Who set the standards for the atonement of sin --  as well as the Lamb, the Human sacrifice Who met all those standards and thus redeemed us.

The Lion was the Creator.

The Lamb was the Redeemer.

The Creator was God in action as a supernatural Spirit.

The Redeemer was God acting as a Man to be our Kinsman Redeemer, as Boaz was to Ruth.

Jehovah God became a Man by dwelling inside the human Man, Jesus Christ.

Thus Jesus did the impossible. He fused Man and God together in one Person.

JOHN 3:13   And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

This is impossible for us humans.

While the Man Jesus walked on Earth, the supernatural Spirit of God that was in Him was also in Heaven.

Drawing1d

COLOSSIANS 2:9   For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

This verse has been repeated in order to emphasize the fact.

HEBREWS 13:8   Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Because Jesus is always the same, if the fulness of the Godhead was ever in Him, then the fulness of the Godhead was always in Him.

So the Creator died as a Man to save His creation.

How can God die?

JAMES 2:26   For as the body without the spirit is dead,

Death is not the destruction of the human spirit. Death is simply when the spirit leaves the body.

So the supernatural Spirit that was wrapped up in the humanity of Christ left His Body as He died.

This Spirit went down to hell to take the keys of death and hell from the Devil, while His Body lay in the tomb.

Supernatural and natural both combined in Christ -- Lion and Lamb, Creator and Redeemer.

ISAIAH 43:1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

God was described as both Creator and Redeemer in the Old Testament.

Drawing18

The supernatural Creator and the human Redeemer were two tasks that Jesus alone could accomplish.

Jehovah, as the supernatural Spirit of God, could not die for our sins. God cannot die.

Jehovah had to make a human Man for Himself. Then when His Spirit left the Body of that Man Jesus, that was death.

But this picture looks like two People. Jesus, however, was seen as a Lamb.

So the picture looks more like this:

Drawing20c

Can it be two People? Creator God on the throne and the Redeemer or Saviour Jesus standing beside God’s throne?

No, says Isaiah.

ISAIAH 43:11   I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

You can never see a Saviour standing or sitting beside God the Father.

So what did John see?

REVELATION 5:6   And I beheld, and, lo,

in the midst of the throne

and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders,

stood a Lamb as it had been slain,

having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

When we read this verse we tend to overlook the fact that John saw the Lamb in the middle of the throne.

Drawing2g

Two people cannot sit in the middle of the same throne.

This is trying to tell us that the same Jesus is both the Creator as well as the Redeemer.

Now comes the clever part that easily fools us if we are not careful.

If the Lamb is already in the throne, how can he travel so as to come and take the Book?

REVELATION 5:7   And he came and took the book

out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

The Lamb travelled in order to take the Book.

He could not travel through space as He was already in the midst of the throne.

Einstein was the first scientist to separate space and time.

Because we do not know how to build a time machine, we cannot travel through time and thus we usually never think in terms of travelling through time.

But that is what Jesus did.

As the Saviour, before taking the Book of Redemption, while He sat on the throne He first travelled in the Spirit all the way back in time to the very beginning. To do what? To check that the Salvation Plan was perfect.

There must be no loopholes for the very clever Devil to wriggle out of future punishment. Satan must end up in the Lake of Fire. Heaven will not be great if Satan is still on the loose. He has done enough damage.

So after travelling in time all the way back to the beginning and checking that all of the salvation plan was watertight and would stand up to the most minute examination, then Jesus came back through time to take the Book.

He first had to check that everybody who was meant to be saved was in the Book. No saved person must be left out because of some possible error.

During that process of time-travel, He never left the throne.

But the salvation plan had then been thoroughly checked. God leaves nothing to chance.

This is a warning to us. We must check our beliefs by running them through Scripture and making sure there are no omissions and no contradictions. And no additions.

II TIMOTHY 2:15   Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
