The Moslem of Omar error

No man is infallible. Prophets can make mistakes. John the Baptist thought that Jesus was not the Messiah.

62-1007  THE KEY TO THE DOOR

“… that I am perfectly infallible. That there's nothing... And, oh, some of the awfullest things you ever heard.

Seven times brother Branham speaks of the Moslem of Omar, but there is no such thing.”

So, repetition does not teach us anything other than he had the fact wrong.

54-0103   QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS.1

“Now, He said, ‘That time's near at hand, for they're going to tear down this temple and put up the Moslem of Omar, is going to stand on the same place here, the Mohammedans, Gentiles. And it's going to stand there."

54-0515  QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

“…the Jews weep and wail there at the wailing wall, the only thing left of the temple. And the Moslem of Omar stands at the same place.”

57-1006  QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ON HEBREWS.3

“And then the abomination maketh desolation, the Moslem of Omar was put on the holy ground,”

60-1211  THE TEN VIRGINS AND THE HUNDRED AND FORTY FOUR THOUSAND JEWS

“And the Moslem of Omar was erected where the temple stood. And Jesus spoke of that in Matthew 24, He said, "When you see the abomination that maketh desolation standing in the holy place, where the prophet Daniel spoke, said about it," then it's in parenthesis, said, "(he that readeth, let him understand:)" See, "When you see this abomination, the filthiness of the Moslem of Omar standing there where the holy place once stood." And today the Moslem stands there exactly where the holy place, right on the temple site.”

61-0618  REVELATION CHAPTER FIVE.2

“… and the abomination that maketh desolation (which the Moslem of Omar stood on the temple grounds the day when they burnt the temple), and then there is three and a half years yet left to the Israel.”

No. The day they built the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Site was AD 691. The day they burned the Temple was AD 33.

61-0618  REVELATION CHAPTER FIVE.2

“And Christ came and preached and prophesied just exactly three and a half years, and the daily sacrifice was taken away, everything just as perfect as it could be. And the Moslem of Omar was right... built on the same grounds and stands there to this day.”

But in other places he said it correctly, the Mosque of Omar.

A Mosque is a Muslim place of worship. A Moslem or Muslim is a follower of Muhammed.

But in the next quote he gets the date wrong. It was AD 70 when Titus came, not AD 96.

And he gets the wrong building. The Dome of the Rock stands on what is thought to be the Temple Site. The Mosque of Omar is half a kilometer away. It is not on the Temple Site at all. Thus, the Mosque of Omar does not stand on the Holy Place.

But brother Branham never ever mentioned the Dome of the Rock.

He had been taught the wrong fact of calling the Dome of the Rock the Mosque of Omar and he always believed that factual mistake. Many people make this mistake of muddling up the Mosque of Omar with the Dome of the Rock.

61-0723  GOD BEING MISUNDERSTOOD

“In A.D. 96, Titus came in and captured Jerusalem and burnt the temple, and they built the Mosque of Omar (the Mohammedan religion) right on the temple grounds, and still stands there to this day.”

And the Mosque of Omar is half a kilometer from the so-called Temple Site. So, it cannot be the abomination of desolation that stands in the Holy Place.

Be careful. The prophecy says not one stone left upon another. But there are about 12 layers of stone that make up the Wailing Wall which is supposed to be a wall of the Temple. Plus, there is no spring of water in the Temple Site and the Temple priests needed a lot of water to wash the animal sacrifices. So many people believe that what we call the Temple Site is the wrong site.

MATTHEW 24:1   “And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

:2     And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”

54-0515  QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

“And Titus besieged the walls of Jerusalem in A.D. 96, and burnt the city. And there wasn't one stone left upon another one, according to the prophecy. And today, the only thing they got left of the temple is an old wall laying there where they heaped up the stones, and it's rubbed slick where the Jews weep and wail there at the wailing wall, the only thing left of the temple. And the Moslem of Omar stands at the same place.”

Notice the contradiction.

"Not one stone left upon another".  And, "the only thing they got left of the Temple is an old wall".

But this old wall has 12 layers of old massive stones above ground with an additional 17 layers of stone buried under street level. So, this Wailing Wall as it is called is not likely to be part of the Old Temple which was completely destroyed.

Getting wrong dates

Twice brother Branham gets the wrong date of AD 606 instead of AD 325.

61-0813  FAITH

“They made their first organization at the Nicene Council, A.D. 606. They made their...

And when the Nicene Council was held at Nicaea, Rome, they begin to get all the great dignitaries in.”

The political backing of the Emperor Constantine made the church Bishops important in AD 325 at the Nicene Council.

60-1204  THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST

“Then when they had the Nicene Council in 606,”

No. The Council of Nicaea was AD 325.

61-0723  GOD BEING MISUNDERSTOOD

“In A.D. 96, Titus came in and captured Jerusalem and burnt the temple,”

54-0515  QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

“And Titus besieged the walls of Jerusalem in A.D. 96, and burnt the city.”

You cannot just claim that a quote is true, even if it is repeated.

On NINE different occasions brother Branham said that Titus came in AD 96.

But AD 96 is the wrong date because Titus came in AD 70, not AD 96.

In THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL brother Branham has Palm Sunday on AD 30 and on AD 33, on the same page. One date is right, so the other date must be wrong.

He also has Jesus riding in on a white mule. No. It was a donkey and its colour is not mentioned.

61-0806  THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL

“Now, now, Jesus, Messiah, rode into the city of Jerusalem, triumph, on the back of a white mule on Palm Sunday, April the 2nd, A.D. 30. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, A.D. 30. And now, now, from B.C. 445 to A.D. 30 is exactly 475 years.

But as we have already seen that the sixty-nine weeks makes 483 years... Now, there's where the trouble comes, right there. See? We've got only with the marking of the Bible here, time, only 475 years, and actually it's 483 years, a difference of eight years.

Now, God can't make it miss. If He said it would be so many days, it's so many days. If He says it's so much, it's so much. So what are we going to do? Now, the B.C. 475 to A.D. 30 are Julian or astronomy years, which are 365 1/4 day in each. But when we reduce them days to our prophetic calendar...

Now, let me stop right here just a minute. That you might know beyond one shadow of doubt, I just wouldn't take that one place. I can take it through the entire Scriptures and prove you that seven days is seven years in the Bible. I just did it over here in Revelations the 11th chapter and the 3rd verse. Them prophets will prophesy one thousand two hundred and three-score days, which is in the midst of the last week of the Jews. Then they're cut off and the Armageddon sets in. Then if that be so, there it is again exactly thirty days in a month. See? Then it's not no thirty-one days and twenty-eight days and so forth; it's exactly thirty days in a month each time.

Our prophetic calendar brings us to 360 days as we use now in the Scriptures. We have exactly 483 (There it is.)--483. Here we have exactly proof of the prophecy, exactly the truth. For from the time of the going forth to build the temple until the destroying... Or when they rejected Christ and killed Him in A.D. 33”

Christ was killed on the Thursday after Palm Sunday in AD 33.

The meaning of Nicaea, Rome

Brother Branham loved to say “Nicaea, Rome.”

61-0806  THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL

“This was at Nicaea, Rome, when they had the Nicene Council. And what did they do? They organized the church, then it begin to persecute the Christians. Then in the next church age, it almost, Christianity in the way of the baptism of the Holy Ghost was all wiped out.”

He says “Nicaea, Rome” FIFTY FOUR times in various sermons but that does not mean Nicaea is in Rome.

Nicaea is in Asia Minor, just below Constantinople (called Istanbul today).

Brother Branham is a genius on the spiritual level, not on the earthly level where he had very little education and often gets his facts muddled.

What he is meaning when he says “Nicaea, Rome” is that the Roman Pope rose to political and religious power when the Emperor Constantine forced the church to accept the Trinity in AD 325 at the Council of Nicaea. Constantine then gave the Pope much money and political power (by exiling his opponents). Constantine had already given the Pope the huge and beautiful Lateran Palace. So, the Council of Nicaea established the Pope as the up-and-coming Western religious and political leader who was very wealthy. Other churches began to look up to the Pope from Rome for financial help. When the pagan Western Roman Empire collapsed under all the Barbarian raids in AD 476, then the Roman Pope began to fill the power vacuum in the West until he ruled Europe in the Dark Ages.

We need to understand his spiritual revelation, even if he gets his facts wrong.

58-0928   THE SERPENT'S SEED

“After the death of the apostles, there what come the Nicene fathers, and they went on for several years (three hundred and twenty-five years) finally came to Nicaea, France, where they had the great Nicene Council. And in there they formed these dogmas that the Catholic church has now, and also that's handed down to the Protestants.”

Nicaea, France. No. Brother Branham got muddled up with the city of Nice in France.

Once you know the truth you can easily correct these minor mistakes.

58-0928   THE SERPENT'S SEED

“And it's exactly three hundred and twenty-five years to the Laodicean council.”

The Laodicean Council was in the year 363. That is the wrong Council. After 325 years was the Nicene Council.

60-1205  THE EPHESIAN CHURCH AGE

“…      until the Laodicean Council where they formed the Catholic church,”

This happened in AD 325 at the Nicaean Council.  Not at the Laodicean Council of AD 363.

Body, spirit, and soul are not in their correct order

At times brother Branham even gets well known facts wrong, like the unscriptural Third Person of the Trinity.

53-0613  GOD'S PROVIDED WAY

“God's Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, the Holy Ghost, is now moving over the building.”

The body is on the outside and is controlled by the inner spirit. But inside the spirit is the soul which either believes or does not believe (doubts).

So the correct order, starting from the outside, must be body, spirit, soul.

53-0729  QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ON GENESIS

“I'm a trinity in one. I'm soul, body, and spirit in one person.”

Wrong order. The soul is not on the outside and the spirit is not the innermost portion.

Almost every time he mentions these three, he gets the wrong order, which should be body, spirit, soul.

65-1126  WORKS IS FAITH EXPRESSED

“I'm body and soul and spirit,”

The above quote is twelve years later and he still has the wrong order.

54-0515  QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

“…   we're soul, body, and spirit.”

He keeps repeating this wrong order.

1965   CHURCH AGES BOOK  CHAPTER 7  SARDIS

“but they belonged body, soul, and spirit to the Church of Rome”

Here he gets it wrong again.

53-0403  THE CRUELTY OF SIN AND THE PENALTY THAT IT COST TO RID SIN FROM OUR LIVES

“… so we are perfected in three: soul, body, and spirit. And our body's controlled of nerves, of blood, and of cells (flesh): three. All perfected in three...”

“Soul, body, and spirit” is the wrong order.

Brother Branham copied Clarence Larkin who put the spirit right on the inside, instead of the soul.

But right at the end, one month before he died, he finally got it right.

65-1126  WORKS IS FAITH EXPRESSED

“And you are: body, spirit, and soul.”

We can use one generic name for many nations

English or England means four different nationalities. English, Scottish, Irish, and Welsh.

Putin calls Lithuanians Russians as well as calling people of Ukraine Russians.

These are generic names. Using one name to describe different nationalities.

The Eastern Roman Empire consisted of all sorts of countries but they were all called Greeks, because that is where their culture started.

Even Alexander the Great is called a Greek although he was actually Macedonian.

The Western Roman Empire was lots of different countries, but they were all called Romans.

Brother Branham uses Anglo-Saxon as a generic name for white people.

In the next quote he is discerning the thoughts of a black lady in America. He has never seen her before.

58-0512  LIFE   EVERETT Massachusetts

You with your hand up there, the other colored lady, setting there waving your hand, do you believe me to be God's servant? The young woman, do you believe me? I don't know you, do I, sister? I've never seen you in my life. You believe me to the servant of Christ? And it's not me? This is a case like Jesus talking to the woman at the well. She was a Samaritan; He was a Jew. You are a Ethiopian woman, and I'm an Anglo-Saxon.

Brother Branham uses Ethiopian as a generic word for African people.

Cyrene is in Libya. But brother Branham calls Simon of Cyrene an Ethiopian and a Negro.

63-0628   O LORD JUST ONCE MORE

There was one standing by, by the name of Simon, a Negro, he picked up the cross and help You bear it. Here is one of his children, this morning, sick." About that time, it happened. See? He is God of the whole human race.

“Negro” is a generic term for dark-skinned African people.

50-0820   BELIEVE YE THAT I AM ABLE TO DO THIS

Along came Simon, the Cyrene, colored man, Ethiopian, picked up the cross and helped Him bear the cross." Said, "Father, I'm sure You understand. And here's one of his daughters tonight, staggering in darkness. Won't You help her?"

Here he says that the Negro Simon of Cyrene was an Ethiopian.

He calls the people of Africa Ethiopians. Why? Because that is where the Gospel started in Africa thanks to the Ethiopian eunuch that Philip converted.

Brother Branham thinks spiritually.

Greek culture spread around the world from Greece so all those countries in the Eastern Roman Empire called themselves Greeks.

The Gospel in Africa started with Philip and an Ethiopian, so Ethiopia was the birthplace of the Gospel in Africa.

So, brother Branham, as a spiritual man, sees the Gospel spreading from Ethiopia to Africa and calls all the African people Ethiopians.

Americans call black people Coloreds. Brother Branham calls her an Ethiopian

61-0218 BALM.IN.GILEAD_ LONG.BEACH.CALIFORNIA

“All right, over in this side. There's a colored woman with her hand up. What do you think, sister? Do you believe me to be God's prophet, or His servant? I think I have enough favor with the crowd to say prophet. All right. Do you believe me to be His prophet? You're an Ethiopian woman. I'm an Anglo-Saxon man.”

59-0329   THE SIGN OF THE MESSIAH   JEFFERSONVILLE

“Now, here stands an Ethiopian woman to an Anglo-Saxon man, first time in life meeting: what we call, colored woman, white man. When that question was raised there in the segregation before Jesus. He let them know real quick; there's no difference in people's colors. We all come from one tree: Adam and Eve. Exactly. The countries we lived in, it changed our color; had nothing to do with it. God died for all creatures: the white man, the black man, the yellow man, the brown man, the red man, and all. They're all creatures of God.”

If they come from Africa originally, he calls them Ethiopians.

60-0612  SPEAK TO THIS ROCK   CHAUTAUQUA  OHIO

“This is, I believe it's the first colored person we've had on the platform today. I believe, as far as I know. All right, look...

One day in Jerusalem, there was an old, rugged cross going--dragging down the street, dragging out the bloody footprints of the Bearer. And Simon Cyrenian helped Him bear the cross when He fell under that load. He was an Ethiopian, where your people originated at.”

The people of Africa are not all descended from Ethiopians.

But, in Africa, the Gospel started in Ethiopia and then spread to other countries in Africa.

The country that started the spread of the Gospel is then the generic name whereby the rest are called.

60-0807  DEBATE ON TONGUES

“Like a few days after that the Ethiopian going down, you know, and Philip was down to Samaria, and the Ethiopian was on his road back to Africa, the eunuch.

….. He'd been up there to Pentecost to worship. See? So he baptized him right there, in the Name of Jesus,

and he went on to Ethiopia rejoicing, taking the message to Ethiopia.

That's where it was supposed to be--go at.”

Ethiopia was where the Gospel began in Africa.

53-0508  GOD COMMISSIONING MOSES

“Let's drop our thoughts back tonight, to the God commissioning Moses, the prophet. He had done wrong. He'd got away from God, and had slain a man, and he'd went back on the back side of the deserts,

and married a woman back there by the name of Zipporah, an Ethiopian,

and he had two children born to him by her. And he was herding Jethro, his father-in-law's sheep, way back on the back side of the desert running from God. Just like a man, running from his calling, taking up the material things.”

Calling a woman an Ethiopian is just brother Branham’s generic name for a woman from Africa. Midian is right on the border  of Sinai

55-0122  THIS GREAT SERVANT MOSES

And there he was. What did he do? He went to work for his father-in-law, Jethro, and he was herding his sheep out in the desert place. There's a perfect picture here before us tonight of a believer out of fellowship with God.

… And so, Moses, out of fellowship, no fellowship--out there in a strange country, amongst strangers, not his own people.

The people there were Ethiopians, and he was a Jew.

And there, completely out of reach of God, seemingly, and God all the time knowing, that no matter how much of a mess that God--that man makes out of the program of God, God's going to straighten it out. That's right.”

The people were Midianites. This is not talking about one man, Jethro.

This is all the people who lived in Midian.

There is no Bible reference for the bloodline that Jethro came from if he is not a Midianite.

59-0814  AS I THOUGHT ON MY WAYS

“It was Moses who was living peacefully, marrying the sheik of Midian's daughter, Zipporah.”

Jethro was a priest of Midian. Brother Branham calls him a Sheik. That made him a leader. Leadership positions were not given to outsiders. They stayed in the Midian tribe.

But we are not tracing the bloodline of one man, brother Branham is calling all the people of Midian by the generic term Ethiopians.

One Midianite might have literally descended from Ethiopians, but not all the Midianites did.

56-0611  HEAR YE HIM

“In the dark lands of Africa where the Ethiopian women come to my meeting by the thousands,”

Brother Branham refers to African women as Ethiopians.

In Durban, South Africa about 70000 African people attended his amazing healing meeting at Greyville race course. Most were from South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Let us assume that Zipporah was a black Ethiopian woman

53-0326  ISRAEL AND THE CHURCH.2

“Moses had fled, was out there on the backside of the desert, herding Jethro's sheep. My, forty years he'd been out there, and he had a couple of kids.”

Moses lived in the Midian desert for 40 years. He had obviously been married to Zipporah for a number of years before the Exodus started, in order to have two children.

The Book of Numbers starts in the second year of the Exodus which took them two years to reach the Promised Land before God turned them back because they complained.

So, they must have been about halfway there.

  1. Why did Aaron and Miriam take so long, so many years, to complain about the colour of Zipporah’s skin? Makes absolutely no sense.
  2. Aaron and Miriam both made the same criticism of Moses, but only Miriam got punished. Why? That also makes no sense.
  3. Why was she left outside the camp for 7 days? What was God indicating?
  4. Why was Miriam smitten with leprosy which turns the skin very white?
  5. Why is the name of the Ethiopian woman not mentioned?

Why must Moses have a second wife?

Moses saved the Jews from Egypt and represents Christ who saves mankind from death and hell.

But there are two groups who get saved and learn the truth of Scripture, the church and the 144000.

The Tabernacle that Moses built in the wilderness of the Exodus had a candlestick with seven oil lamps representing the church with its seven church ages. Then there was a table of shewbread with 12 loaves to represent the 144000 Jews.

That is also why Zipporah had six sisters who had no names. Zipporah represents the first church age that was established by the apostles.

The remaining six church ages have nothing important to add. Their only success is where they managed to agree with the first church age. Our last church age is an unscriptural mess with Jesus standing outside the door. Our only success will be if we are able to get back to the beliefs of the first church age.

61-0108  REVELATION CHAPTER FOUR.3

“And I remember in my vision when I seen the Presence of the Lord, or His people in that glorious Land yonder, I looked around, I told them... And they told me He would judge me first by the Gospel that I preach.

I said, Just exactly the way Paul preached It. And them millions of people screamed out, We're resting on that!"

61-1119 PERFECT  STRENGTH  BY  PERFECT  WEAKNESS
“Oh, my, talk about the lid off of the kettle: demons going around, powers of the devil under the name of Christianity,

teaching for doctrine the commandments of men,

theological seminary doctrines,

leaving the Bible alone.”

Intellectually lazy, we believe church propaganda without a second thought.

Ethiopia is where the Gospel started in Africa.

Black absorbs light.

Moses’ Ethiopian wife is sufficiently black to absorb the Light of the Gospel and go back to her beginning roots because originally, Ethiopia was the first African country that believed the truth that the apostle Philip taught the Ethiopian eunuch. The Ethiopian wife represents the 144000 receiving the apostolic truth of the first church age. The Ethiopian woman has no name of her own because the 144000 Jews are only ever called the 144000. They take on no name that we can find.

Why? When they meet Messiah in great Tribulation He will be in a glorified body and have his new name that nobody else on earth knows.

REVELATION 19:12   “His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.”

Miriam represents the Jewish church who try to follow the Old Testament during the seven church ages and who do not believe that another woman (the 144000 Jews) can be accepted by Messiah. Miriam was racialistic, objecting to a white-black marriage, so God smote her with leprosy to make her whiter than white.

The Jews have tried hard during the church ages to maintain their unique racial identity.

So, Miriam, as the Jewish church, was outside the camp of truth during the seven church ages, typed by the seven days. The Jews will only come back as the 144000 and be restored into the camp of truth during great tribulation once the Bride is .mysteriously caught up to Heaven.

That is why Zipporah mysteriously fades off the scene so that the Ethiopian woman can enter

Aaron is a man, so this preview of the first church (Zipporah) and the 144000 Jews (Ethiopian woman) is not illustrated by Aaron.

Jesus twice fed the multitudes and the disciples gathered 12 and then 7 baskets of rejected bread scraps. The same numbers 12 and 7 that were in the Tabernacle.

The 7 lamps of the candlestick (the 7 church ages) and the 12 loaves of shewbread (the 144000 from the 12 tribes of Israel).

The rejected scraps symbolized the Jews rejecting the Gospel that Jesus was preaching. The disciples gathered up this rejected Gospel and wrote it as the New Testament which would feed the church in 7 church ages and then feed the 144000 of the 12 tribes in great Tribulation.

The human body is connected to the head by the 7 vertebrae in the neck and the 12 vertebrae that hold the ribs.

Jesus, as the Head, gathering up the church and the 144000 Jews.

MATTHEW 16:9   “Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

:10   Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?”

Jesus expects us to understand the meaning of the 12 baskets and 7 baskets of rejected scraps.

DANIEL 12:10  “… but the wise shall understand”

The purpose of the end-time prophet is to teach us how to understand the Bible mysteries.

If we cannot understand then we are obviously the foolish or fooled virgins of Matthew Chapter 25.

“The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.” — 1 Corinthians 16:23
