57-0825 HEBREWS CHAPTER TWO.1
In the Old Testament, before a prophet's word could be made manifest, it had to be examined and proved. They wasn't loose with it, like we are today.
59-1123 SPEAK TO THIS MOUNTAIN
That's the reason I know it's the Angel of the Lord, because He bears record of His Word. And if that Angel told me one thing that wasn't Scriptural, I would not believe Him. It has to be with the Word first. God's Word is eternal. 'Cause an angel could come and preach something else, Paul said, that wasn't right. But if it's the Word of God, the Angel of God will verify that Word every time to be the truth, if it's a true Angel from the Lord. If it's something off color, then don't you listen to it. But if an Angel comes and speaks and says just exactly what the Word says, then that Angel's from God.
We have to check everything to make sure it is correct.
ACTS 17:10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
The people of Berea were noble because they checked that what Paul preached was Scriptural.
Checking the first angel messenger was not a mistake. They were complimented for doing it.
CAUTION.
William Branham had many magnificently inspired doctrines that illuminated the mysteries of Scripture. But his quotes are not the Absolute.
He was not infallible.
62-1007 THE KEY TO THE DOOR
... and they're preaching that men should leave their wives and hunt for their spiritual mate, and that I am perfectly infallible. That there's nothing... And, oh, some of the awfullest things you ever heard.
As a human being, he could make mistakes at times.
A number of mistakes were made in his sermon “Daniel’s Seventieth Week”.
These mistakes will be pointed out so that you do not try to build up a version of the truth based on mistakes. That is a journey to nowhere.
These mistakes are not pointed out to discredit brother Branham. He was the seventh angel or messenger to the end-time church.
Pointing out these mistakes in certain quotes will hopefully make you a bit more cautious before you just run after a quote because others say that you must do so.
“I have a quote” must never be allowed to replace, “It is written…”
John the Baptist was the forerunner of the First Coming of Jesus. He made a big mistake by thinking that Jesus was not the Messiah. Despite this blunder, Jesus did not criticize him or discredit him. Jesus corrected the mistake and was hugely complimentary of John by recognizing the good work that he had done.
Messiah means Anointed One. Jesus was anointed by the Holy Ghost descending upon Him and resting on Him. The Holy Ghost did not go into Him.
Jesus became Messiah the Prince at His water baptism in AD 29.
JOHN 1:32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
The Holy Ghost never entered Jesus. It simply came down as a public anointing.
Messiah means Anointed One.
The person who places the seed of life in a woman’s womb is the child's father. The Holy Ghost overshadowed Mary to become God the Father. ("God the Father" is never mentioned in the Old Testament).
MATTHEW 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
Thus, the Holy Ghost is the Father of Jesus, and the Holy Ghost said, “Thou art My beloved Son”.
The voice of the Holy Ghost spoke from Heaven.
MARK 1:10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
:11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
As the Son of the King, Jesus was the Prince at His baptism.
Palm Sunday was the month of His death. Thus AD 33, not AD 30
The following quote that brother Branham makes actually comes from Clarence Larkin’s book “Dispensational Truth”.
It is incorrect because, on Palm Sunday, Jesus was hailed as King, not as Prince.
He was publicly anointed at the water baptism to become Messiah.
Thus, Messiah the Prince refers to the water baptism in AD 29, not to Palm Sunday in AD 33.
So, the date AD 30 is wrong.
Scofield’s reference Bible gives Archbishop Ussher’s dates. The date given for the death of Jesus is AD 33. Brother Branham now ignores this date (despite using Ussher’s dates soon after this for his 1977 prediction).
Suddenly brother Branham quotes from Clarence Larkin’s book “Dispensational Truth”.
Larkin uses the date AD 30 for Calvary on page 70 of his book.
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
“Now, now, Jesus, Messiah, rode into the city of Jerusalem, triumph, on the back of a white mule, on Palm Sunday, April the 2nd, A.D. 30. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, A.D. 30. And now, now, from 445 B.C. to A.D. 30, is exactly four hundred and seventy-five years.”
AD 30 is wrong. Jesus died in AD 33. Palm Sunday was in the same week that He died.
A white mule? Where does the "white" come from? Not from Scripture.
Jesus never rode on a mule. Jesus rode on a donkey and her young male colt.
… Or when they rejected Christ and killed Him in A.D. 33
Now, in the same sermon, brother Branham also uses Ussher’s date of AD 33 as given in the Scofield Reference Bible of the King James Version. Two different dates in the same sermon? Brother Branham quotes Larkin and then Ussher.
So, his use of dates is confusing. He simply quotes two different sources.
Please notice. He has AD 30 and AD 33 for the death of Christ in the same study. So, one of those dates must be wrong.
In a 1955 sermon brother Branham also had the mule wrong. And muddled it up with a horse. We have to check up on these facts and correct them if we are to present the truth to the people.
55-0122 THIS GREAT SERVANT, MOSES
“Beautiful type of it when Jesus said in the wilderness that He was the Rock that was in the wilderness. No wonder the people screamed back there that day, when He came into Jerusalem, riding on this horse, little mule. And they was crying, those Nazarenes crying, “Hosanna, hosanna to Him that cometh in the Name of the Lord.”
Not a horse. Nor a mule. It was a parent donkey and her colt (young male donkey).
God's true Word was carried into the church by the apostles who guided the first church age. Those apostles became the spiritual fathers of the church. Then their spiritual children in the last church age have to be restored to the beliefs of the fathers, the first church age.
From the 6th to the 19th chapter of Revelation is all Jewish. Wrong
A misconception is made about Revelation Chapters 6 to 19. Somehow brother Branham thought they only referred to the Jews.
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
… last thing was the last messenger of the age. Then we deal with the Jews until the coming again with the Bride in the 19th chapter. From the 6th to the 19th chapter is all Jewish.
“From Chapter 6 to Chapter 19 is all Jewish”. This is not an accurate statement.
This is a common church belief as it means they do not have to understand all those Chapters but push them all into the future great Tribulation.
Revelation 6: 1-7 deals with the seven church ages and the rise of the antichrist spirits.
The first 3½ Seals deal with the four beasts around the throne that protect the church.
Revelation 8:1 is the Seventh Seal, the Coming of the Lord to catch up the church to Heaven.
63-1110 SOULS THAT ARE IN PRISON NOW
The Seventh Seal brings Him back to earth.
Revelation, Chapter 10. The mighty Archangel that comes down to raise the dead saints in the resurrection.
64-0119 SHALOM
When that Angel, of Revelation the 10th chapter, puts one foot on land and one on the sea, and a rainbow over His head, He swore, "time shall be no more." When that time comes, you'll rise up from among the dead. While the rest of them lay there, you'll go in.
REVELATION 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
This verse has compound fulfillment.
The 1260 days refer to the Jews in the future great Tribulation and when interpreted as 1260 years partly refer to the church in the Alps' wilderness during the Dark Ages until Christians were able to flee to America at Plymouth Rock in 1620.
The year AD 378 saw 20000 Romans and their emperor Valens killed at the battle of Adrianople near Constantinople. Historians say that began the collapse of the Western Roman empire. Theodosius became the new Roman emperor and he gave his title of Pontiff or High Priest of the Babylonian mysteries to the Bishop of Rome, Damasus in AD 382. Theodosius began to persecute the opponents of the Roman Catholic church. When the pagan Roman empire fell in AD 476 then that pagan spirit was able to resurrect within the Roman Catholic church as the Pope held the highest pagan position of Pontiff. Thus the persecution of opponents to the Catholic church kept increasing.
Every 70 Bible years of 360 days is equal to 69 of our Roman years of 365.244 days.
So in 1260 Bible years there are 1260/70 = 18 years less of our Roman years.
The Bible time of 1260 years is equal to 1260 - 18 = 1242
378 + 1242 = 1620
From the AD 378 battle that saw Valens killed and Theodosius become the first Christian emperor to persecute Christians who opposed the Roman Catholic church, the true church endures killing and persecution in Europe until they found safety in America in 1620. They fled to America for safety from Catholic oppression. In 2020 they handed over America to a Catholic president. This could be a crucial sign of the times.
Thus Revelation 12 refers to the Jews conquered by Rome just before Jesus was born and then struggling against Rome in great Tribulation. There is a compound meaning to this Chapter as it also refers to the true church and its long persecution by the Roman Catholics.
The foolish virgins had to be saved before the years of great Tribulation started. But they will be in great Tribulation because they were fooled by their church leaders until they accepted unscriptural beliefs. In that awful 3.5 years that are coming, they will be killed by the Devil.
REVELATION 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
This refers to the foolish virgins who are in the future great Tribulation.
God cut His Bride out of the church and caught them up to Heaven. The rest of the church is the remnant that God left behind. These foolish virgins, though saved, are doomed by their false church beliefs.
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
Remember, in this great time of persecution, there's millions of Gentiles will die in that, that rejected bride, that remnant of the woman's seed, sleeping virgin.
The foolish virgins are the great multitude referred to in Daniel Chapter 7 who were saved before the time of great Tribulation but had to go through that time and die as God purged them from their church beliefs in order to make them Scriptural.
REVELATION 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
:14 … These are they which came out of great tribulation,
The foolish virgins are saved before the Tribulation starts. Then they are purged from their church traditions and denominational errors by the terror of great Tribulation before they are killed.
63-0323 THE SIXTH SEAL
If we had time, I could show what's going to happen to that Gentile church. The Bible said that the dragon, Satan, was wroth (That's angry.) with the woman (the Jew, Israel); and he spurted water from his mouth (thickness and multitudes of people) that went to make war with the remnant of the woman's seed (Revelations 13).
[Wrong. Revelation 12].
Now, see there? We have that. And that's when Israel sends her, I mean, Rome sends her army after the remnant, the remnant of the woman's seed.
Now, watch. The first time their enemy's hands, when He's delivered them out, the sun turned to sack--black as sackcloth. Now, this is the second time, the end of the tribulation period.
Revelation, Chapter 13. This is the rise of the Roman Catholic church as the man-worshiping beast of centrally organized religion. Then the rise of denominational Protestants as they copy Rome to form a confederation of churches with its headquarters in New York, as the image of the beast.
Revelation 14 speaks of three angels or messengers to the church, Luther (Justification), Wesley (Sanctification), and brother Branham (Revealing the end-time mysteries and the huge errors that are in the church systems).
Revelation 17 The rise of the pagan Roman spirit in the Roman Catholic church to rule the world.
This traces the rise of the Catholic church that copied the dictatorship and cruelty of Julius Caesar and the hypocrisy and scheming of his sister's grandson, Augustus as well as the blood lust of Nero who killed Christians, that ended Caesar's family.
Revelation 18: 1-7 A mighty angel of light, brother Branham, to condemn organized religion and then another voice from Heaven (the inner conviction of the Holy Spirit to the individual) saying, “Come out of her my people”. The third exodus of individual believers out of the church system.
So, it is not accurate to say that Chapters 6-19 only refers to the Jews. There are many references to the church in these Chapters.
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
Anything from Revelations the 3rd chapter on to the 19th has not one thing to do with the church.
This statement does not match the Scriptures.
Br Branham quotes Larkin to say that there is a 7 year Tribulation
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
They are divided in three periods, as we find out in Daniel 9--three periods: First, a seven week period; then a threescore and two, which is sixty-two; and then a one week period. They're divided in three different periods.
7 weeks, 62 weeks, 1 week.
Each week represents 7 years.
GENESIS 29:27 Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.
7 x 7 = 49 years 62 x 7 = 434 years 1 x 7 = 7 years
This diagram shows Larkin's revelation that brother Branham is quoting from.
Larkin has Jesus dying in AD 30 and thus the Jews have a 7-year Tribulation at the end, as the last week.
A day representing a year in prophecy.
The correct revelation is as follows.
The next diagram shows the last week split up into two halves. The (red) half-week for the ministry of Jesus and the last (yellow) half-week in the Tribulation when the 2 prophets call out the 144000.
In this message brother Branham quotes Clarence Larkin, who claimed a full week of 7 years left. But we will see that this does not fit into Scripture.
Br Branham said it took 49 years to rebuild the Temple. Wrong.
This time has to be measured from the command to rebuild the city walls given in 446 BC.
The next quote is dealing with the rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem.
Brother Branham muddles this up with the rebuilding of the Temple after the Babylonian captivity.
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
Until it was completed, it taken forty-nine years to complete the temple and the city, to rebuild it. And as the Bible said here, Daniel speaking--or the Angel to Daniel, that the walls--and it would be built in troublesome times.
It did not take 49 years.
The Persian king Cyrus gave permission in 538 BC and building on the Temple began in 536 BC.
It took 21 years to complete the Temple which was finished about 516 BC, because their enemies got the work to stop for 17 years after the foundations were laid in the first year. Then they only needed about 3 years to finish building once they were given permission to continue.
49 years also had nothing to do with the building of the city wall.
That took 52 days.
Consider the Temple being rebuilt.
EZRA 1:1 In the first year of Cyrus…
This was 538 BC when Babylon was conquered. Cyrus then gave permission for the Jews to return and build their Temple in Jerusalem.
EZRA 3:8 Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of God…
EZRA 3:10 And when the builders laid the foundation of the Temple of the Lord …
The second-year would be about 536 BC.
Then the work was stopped.
The two sons of Cyrus died and Darius became Persian king in 522 BC. He gave permission to finish the Temple.
Wikipedia.
Darius I commonly known as Darius the Great, was the third Persian King of Kings of the Achaemenid Empire, reigning from 522 BCE until his death in 486 BCE.
EZRA 6:15 And this house was finished…in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.
Darius began reigning in the year 522 BC.
So, his sixth year would be about 516 BC, when the Temple was finished.
Thus, the Temple was built between 536 BC and 516 BC, a time span of about 21 years.
The building actually took about 4 years, but for 17 years their enemies managed to stop them.
Around 459 BC Ezra took the Temple treasure back to the Temple.
Then in the 20th year of Artaxerxes, Nehemiah got permission to rebuild the wall of the city of Jerusalem.
Artaxerxes became king in 465 BC.
Wikipedia.
Artaxerxes I was the sixth King of Kings of the Achaemenid Empire, from 465-424 BC. He was the third son of Xerxes I.
If Artaxerxes had his first year in 465 BC then his 20th year would be in 446 BC.
Nehemiah needed a commandment from Artaxerxes to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem.
This would be 446 BC.
NEHEMIAH 2:1 And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence.
NEHEMIAH 2:7 Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah;
:8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.
So, the commandment to restore the wall of Jerusalem was given about 446 BC.
This was 70 years after the Temple had been finished in 516 BC.
There is no star called "Sardis". Br. Branham meant "Sirius"
Then brother Branham described the new Roman or Julian calendar that came from Egypt.
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
Now, we got two--three different calendars. We go back to the old astronomy calendar, and we find out that in the Julian calendar there is 365 1/4 day in a year. They timed that by the passing of Sardis and the different stars and so forth, they timed it.
Now, we find in the Roman calendar, that we live under now, 365 days in a year by the calendar.
[actually 365¼ days]
There is no star called "Sardis". Brother Branham meant Sirius.
The Roman dictator, Julius Caesar, got the calendar from the Egyptians. And they measured their calendar from the rising of the brightest star, Sirius, in the east just before sunrise. This reasonably coincided with the start of the Nile floods, so that formed a convenient time to be regarded as the start of their year.
It took 365.25 days before the next rising of Sirius just before sunrise. That is how the Egyptians knew that the year was about 365.25 days long.
Calculation mistakes that br. Branham made
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
Now, if there was seven... Look, there's exactly forty-nine years, in the time of the building of the temple, the seven prophetic weeks, seven weeks, 'cause there's was seven weeks determined to the temple, to rebuild the temple; and it was built in exactly forty-nine years. Now, we have the meaning of the time of weeks, 'cause if the Bible said, the Angel said it taken seven weeks until the building of the temple... And it was exactly forty-nine years building the temple from March the 14th until the--B.C. 538 until the temple was restored again and the streets was restored, exactly forty-nine years.
49 years had nothing to do with the Temple.
It took 4 years to rebuild the Temple but work was held up for 17 years by their enemies.
In 538 BC Persian king Cyrus gave permission to rebuild the Temple.
They started building in 536 BC and finished 21 years later in about 516 BC.
Then 70 years later they got permission from Persian king Artaxerxes to rebuild the city wall which took Nehemiah 52 days.
NEHEMIAH 6:15 So the wall was finished … in fifty and two days.
Daniel divided his 70 weeks into three sections. 7 weeks, 62 weeks, and 1 week.
7 + 62 = 69 weeks to Messiah
69 x 7 = 483 years
The 49 years was the time from 446 BC to the prophecy of Malachi. The Jews had 49 years left while God was still going to speak through a prophet. Then there would be a long time of 434 Bible prophecy years of 360 days where God would be silent. No prophets would be sent until John the Baptist briefly hit the scene in AD 29. After his ministry of about 6 months, he baptized Jesus just as the year 30 was approaching.
446 BC + 30 = 476 of our Roman years.
490 /70 = 7 years. 490 Bible years of 360 days is 7 years less in our time.
So 490 Bible years is 490 - 7 = 483 of our years
Jesus was supposed to have a ministry of 7 years.
So his ministry should start after 483 - 7 = 476 years.
Fro 446 BC that will be AD 30 when He was baptized as Messiah the Prince.
God the Father, as the Holy Spirit, overshadowed Mary and spoke as He came down like a supernatural Dove by saying "This is My beloved Son".
The son of a king is a prince.
The Spirit coming down was the anointing. The anointed One is the Messiah.
DANIEL 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
There are a number of calculation errors.
Corrections will be shown in square brackets [Wrong. Followed by correct answer].
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
Well, from the rebuilding of the temple [Wrong. rebuild the wall] to the Messiah was 438 years [Wrong. 483 Bible prophecy years],
So, 434 years and 434 “times” 49 makes exactly 483 years.
[Wrong. 434 “plus” 49 = 483]
It hit it on the nose exactly to the day, from day to day. Amen. There you are.
Messiah the Prince shall come. See? Seven times sixty-nine is 484 years exactly
[Wrong. 7 x 69 = 483].
49 + 434 = 483 years
According to Dr. Scofield, who uses Archbishop Ussher’s dates that appear in the King James Bible that has Scofield references, the prophet Malachi prophesied in 397 BC.
Brother Branham relied on Ussher’s dates in certain places.
397 BC is 49 years after the commandment was given to rebuild the wall in 446 BC.
So, the Jews had 49 years (or 7 weeks) in which they could expect prophetic guidance.
Then they had 62 weeks with no prophets until John the Baptist appeared in AD 29.
Augustus, the first Roman emperor, died in AD 14.
Later that year the Senate declared Tiberius as emperor.
LUKE 3:1 Now in the fifteenth year of Tiberius…
:2 … the word of God came unto John…
14 + 15 = 29 So, we are in the year AD 29.
John preached for about 6 months and then baptized Jesus just before the year AD 29 ended. The sacrificial Lamb had to be washed before It was offered up.
LUKE 3:23 And Jesus Himself began to be about thirty years of age.
The dates coincide beautifully.
The preaching of John and the baptism of Jesus brings the no-prophetic-help period of 62 weeks to an end.
Then there were only 7 years, or one week, left for the ministry of Jesus.
But He was cut off halfway through there, after 3½ years.
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
Forty-nine years to the rebuilding of the temple.
[Wrong. The Temple was rebuilt between 336 BC and 316 BC which is about 21 years].
Now, this top line here represents the Jewish nation as it goes across. This is just time, and when it drops down here, it drops out of the Jewish nation into the Gentile time, then goes up again and catches Israel and goes on.
This diagram should explain what he is saying. But it disagrees with his “seven years left for the Jews”.
Jesus' ministry began when He was about 30, towards the end of AD 29.
His ministry was 3½ years.
Consequently, there are only 3½ years left for the Jews.
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
… this other seven--this one seven weeks left--one seven years, rather--seven days, seven years, will hit exactly according to the Scripture.
… And one week left, one week's yet determined.
… Where will that seventieth week begin? Exactly after this church is cut off. Then God returns to the Jews.
… The moment He starts that seventieth week or seven years, the church is gone.
But there cannot be seven years left.
Clarence Larkin believed in a 7-year future Tribulation and brother Branham was quoting from Larkin's book.
No more Protestant presidents of America after John Kennedy.
Now we come to a prediction that did not turn out to be correct.
John Kennedy, the first Catholic president of America, had just been elected in 1961.
Aware that Catholicism would finally take over America (symbolized by a beautiful woman in his one vision), brother Branham feared that the Catholic stranglehold over American politics would continue.
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
Mr. Eisenhower went out, the last Protestant of America in the president, which I doubt there'll ever be another one,
This prediction was wrong. Until 2020, there has never been another Catholic President after John Kennedy who came to power in 1961, the year of this sermon.
Johnson. Nixon. Ford. Carter. Reagan. Bush senior. Clinton. Bush Junior. Obama. Trump were all Protestants.
Kennedy's wife, the beautiful Jackie Kennedy was a symbol of the Catholic church which is called Jezebel in the fourth church age. President John Kennedy would then symbolize Jezebel’s husband Ahab. There had to be an Ahab and a Jezebel on the throne of America in order to establish brother Branham as the end-time Elijah.
Ahab stole the vineyard of Naboth. Christ is the vine, the church is the branches. The Catholics have stolen all the Protestant branches by getting them to believe unscriptural doctrines. The golden cup of abominations that Rome holds out to the world in Revelation Chapter 17. Trinity, Christmas, Good Friday, seven-year Tribulation, Eve ate an apple, one man as the head of the church, there are mistakes in the King James Version of the Bible. All these dismal errors are now believed by the Protestants.
The covenant is "confirmed" not "made"
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
"And the prince that is to come, which is the antichrist, will make a covenant with the Jews, in Daniel 9:27. And in the middle of the week, three and one half years, the beast will make a covenant...
Daniel says the covenant is "confirmed", it is not "made".
… Now, this is the last three and a half years to the people. Also, if you notice, it's the time that God will call that one hundred and forty-four thousand Jews in this last three and a half years.
No Scripture speaks of a covenant made in the middle of the week.
The covenant is confirmed (not made) for seven years.
No Scripture says the covenant is broken in the midst of the week. A confirmed covenant cannot be broken.
DANIEL 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease,
Christ died in the midst of the week after 3½ years.
But that broke no covenant that had been made.
His death confirmed the covenant that God had made with Abraham’s Seed in Genesis Chapter 15.
GALATIANS 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
:17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ,
This is the only mention of confirming a covenant in the Bible, with both the natural seed Israel for the Promised Land in the Millennium or the 1000 years of peace and with the spiritual Seed Christ for our eternal home.
GENESIS 15:18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
In the Millennium or 1000 years of peace, the Jews will occupy the Promised Land all the way to the Euphrates river.
The 144000 stand on Mount Sinai. Wrong. Mount Sion

Now, brother, there's your 144,000. When we get to Revelations 11 you'll see them. He said, "There's twelve tribes of Gad, twelve tribes of Aser, twelve tribes of Reuben, twelve tribes..." And where were they all standing? On Mount Sinai.
[Wrong. Mount Sion]
REVELATION 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
AD 33 plus 1954 years is 1977. Wrong. 33 + 1954 = 1987
A simple arithmetic mistake.
33 + 1954 is not equal to 1977.
The next section reveals how an arithmetic mistake produced a failed prediction.
Why did nobody check?
Were they too scared to correct brother Branham, just like modern message-pastors?
James Ussher was the Archbishop of Ireland from 1625 to 1656.
The King James Bible that uses the Scofield notes also uses Ussher’s dates at the top of the page.
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
A striking statement: From the time God made the promise to Abraham (Don't miss this.)--from the time God made the promise to Abraham, Genesis 12:3, to the time of Christ being rejected in A.D. 33, by the Jews, according to Galatians 3:16 and 17, and according to Usher's (U-s-h-e-r-s) Usher's Chronology of the Hebrews, the power of God was with the Jews exactly 1954 years. God dealt with the Jews 1954 years according to the chronology of the Jews and according to Galatians 3:16 and 17. I got many more Scriptures, but just give that. Then after they rejected Christ, He turned to the Gentiles to take a people for His Name. You want a Scripture on that, the place? Acts 15:14.
Now, counting the time, we find that we have exactly (Listen.) seventeen years left, and we will have the same span of time given to us as God dealing with us in the power of the Holy Spirit since A.D. 33 until 1977, the same span of time of 1954 years. God deals with us the same as He did with the Jews. See? How about that?
Ussher’s date for the promise of Abraham was 1921 BC. Thus 1921 + 33 = 1954 years.
Here brother Branham uses Ussher's date of AD 33, not Larkin's date of AD 30 for the death of Christ.
But 33 + 1954 = 1987 NOT 1977.
A big mistake.
Nobody checked this basic arithmetic.
People became too scared to correct brother Branham. That was a mistake because this wrong prediction caused many problems in 1977.
In some message assemblies, if you did not believe that the Lord was coming in 1977 then you were basically asked to leave. Then of course many pastors who had preached that the Lord was coming in 1977, in later years denied that they had ever done so. In 1978, one energetic preacher of the Lord coming in 1977, promptly denied ever saying that.
Another message-preacher, when told that 1977 was only a prediction, not a prophecy, replied, "A prophet’s prediction is good enough for me”. Feelings ran very high against those who did not believe the Lord was coming in 1977.
Thus, many message-believers really thought 1977 was the end. One couple hastened into a quick marriage because time was ending. But after 1977 it was their marriage that quickly ended.
The preachers of course assumed no responsibility for that fiasco. There were those who gave up their jobs in order to prove that they believed that the end had come. Then they were sitting without work. Just because they were silly enough to believe that the message-pastors knew what they were talking about.
Fast forward to 2016 and message-pastors, misinterpreting a quote of a beautiful woman leading America to ruin, confidently predicted that Hillary Clinton would win the presidential election in America. Some things do not change as the message pastors also got that wrong.
The Christians at Berea checked the Scriptures to make sure that Paul, the first messenger, was not making a mistake.
So, the lesson to learn is that we must carefully check and correct any mistakes that we find.
Otherwise, we just generate a wave of extremism.
Defending what is wrong makes us extremists.
And this defense of error drives other people to the opposite extreme and makes them reject everything that brother Branham said. Then they deny that he ever was the seventh angel-messenger.
William Branham is not the Way.
Jesus is the Way.
William Branham is a signpost that showed us the Way by revealing the mysteries of the Word of God.
JOHN 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
William Branham is only one of the stars in the right hand of Jesus.
However great you may think brother Branham is, Jesus is far, far greater.
REVELATION 1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars:
The 70th Jubilee was another miscalculation pointing to 1977
Now we come to another calculation that was wrong.
In the Old Testament, 49 years would go by and then the 50th year would be a jubilee. All debts are forgiven. People can go free.
Brother Branham imagined that the 70th Jubilee would be the Coming of the Lord. There is no Scripture to state this.
70 x 49 = 3430 years.
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
God calls a jubilee every forty-ninth year; the fiftieth year was the jubilee. We know that. We understand that. From the first jubilee of Leviticus 25:8, in 1977 will be the seventieth jubilee, making exactly 3,430 years.
… It'll be the Jubilee of the going up of the Gentile Bride and the return of Christ to the Jews, when they go out of bondage
Scofield’s reference Bible gives Ussher’s date for Leviticus 25 as being 1491 BC.
Once again, the dates do not match
1491 + 1977 = 3468 years NOT 3430 years.
So, 1977 was never going to be a critical year in history.
In 1977 message-preachers kept saying, "I've got a quote to say 1977" but all they actually had was egg on their faces.
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
That was in 1933. And I predicted that there would be some great tragedy happen to this United States before or by the year of 1977. How many remembers me saying that?
This prediction caused much fanaticism (now denied) in 1977 but nothing was fulfilled in that year.
We just have to face the facts.
Brother Branham made a big mistake in his mathematics.
But, so what?
Why did not everyone check what he said and correct him?
So people should just blame themselves for being too scared of their pastors who told them that it is a sin to correct the prophet.
John's disciples believed his wrong quote about Jesus, the Word
When in jail, John the Baptist began to doubt that Jesus was the Messiah. It was a bad mistake. But it did not disqualify John. Jesus still spoke highly of him.
MATTHEW 11:2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,
:3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?
The scary part was that two of John’s disciples believed this error, just because John had said so.
They never had the courage to correct John.
But, you never read of these two disciples again.
These two disciples preferred to stay with John, and they walked away from Jesus when he began to preach.
MATTHEW 11:7 And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
Just like today's message-followers. Show them what is written in the Bible and they walk away, desperately clutching onto a quote that they really do not understand and thus misinterpret.
But there were two far-more sensible disciples of John.
JOHN 1:35 Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;
:36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
:37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
If you have heard and understood what brother Branham was saying, then you would follow the Bible and prove what you believe just from Scripture.
Remember, we only know Jesus as the Word of God.
If we reject or ignore any part of Scripture then we are rejecting and ignoring Jesus.
Caution.
Andrew was the only disciple of John the Baptist who became one of the original 12 disciples of Jesus.
So being a disciple of br. Branham does not make you a disciple of Jesus.
Sure, brother Branham made some mistakes.
But let him who has never made a mistake cast the first stone.
We have to learn to spot mistakes, correct them, and then move on with the true Scriptural revelations that brother Branham did reveal.
The lesson to be learned? You cannot just build up your faith on quotes. You must prove your points from the Bible.
Now we come to a vision that message-pastors misinterpreted in 2016.
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
Now, I predicted and said, "I saw a great woman stand up, beautiful looking, dressed in real highly royals like purple, and I got little parenthesis down here, "She was a great ruler in the United States, perhaps the Catholic church." A woman, some woman... I don't know her to be the Catholic church. I don't know. I can't say. Only thing I seen, I seen the woman; that was all.
Brother Branham did not say it was definitely a woman who would be the ruler of America. He said she may have been symbolic of the Catholic church.
So, when Hillary Clinton tried for the American presidency in 2016, message-pastors immediately said that she would win. They were trying to force this prophecy to refer to Hillary. They ended with egg on their faces.
Is Hillary beautiful? No. The message-pastors should have known better.
The lesson to be learned is that message-pastors love to interpret quotes and come to their own conclusions.
Thus, they make statements brother Branham did not make.
Brother Branham did say that the woman was probably the Catholic church. We know that Catholicism will ultimately take over the world in the 3.5 years of great Tribulation when the antichrist Pope rules.
Kamala Harris became Vice President in 2021.
John Kennedy, the first Catholic President was killed in his third year. If something happens to President Biden in his third year then Kamala becomes President. But is she a beautiful woman? Or does she just open the door for the Catholic church to take over America?
Brother Branham also never said, "The seven Thunders have uttered".
Yet this is commonly preached by message-pastors who claim to be quoting him.
This puts stress on "homemade" sensationalism.
The splicing of quotes to produce a conclusion that brother Branham never made is a dangerous illusion of truth. Message-pastors are asleep at the wheel.
Armageddon and the 2 prophets killed in midst of the 70th week?
61-0806 THE SEVENTIETH WEEK OF DANIEL
And, oh, watch these three prophets--or these two prophets, when they raise up here. And in the middle of the week they're cut off like that, and then starts the battle of Armageddon; then God begin to speak Himself. Then He stands and begins to fight. That prophets are striking the earth.
The battle of Armageddon starting in the middle of the last week?
That implies that the battle of Armageddon takes 3½ years. There is no Scripture that says that.
… these three and one half years, rather, and that's Revelations 11: 3; you've read it many times, "I give power unto My two witnesses, and they'll prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days." How many is it, a thousand two hundred and threescore days? Three and one half years. And then they shall be killed in the streets, right in the midst of this seventieth week.
There is no Scripture that puts the killing of the prophets in the middle of the Tribulation.
The length of the Tribulation is always given as 3½ years.
Right-back in 1954 brother Branham was preaching a 3½ year Tribulation.
54-0718 THE GREAT COMING REVIVAL AND THE OUTPOURING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Messiah was to come and prophesy, and in the midst of the seventy weeks of Daniel, He was to be cut off, and He was: He preached three and a half years to the Jews alone. He never went to the Gentiles, but He went to the Jews. Then there's three and a half years left for them yet, of the preaching of the Gospel and the reconciliation to Christ.
They were blinded back there in order to let the Gentiles have day to be brought in.
Again he states that there are only 3½ years left to the Jews.
55-0109 BEGINNING AND ENDING OF THE GENTILE DISPENSATION
Now, then all to these visions He showed him just where the nations would be standing. He showed them how that there were so many years depended yet on the Jews. He said the Messiah shall come. He will prophesy in the seventieth week, which is three and a half years, and in the midst of it He will be cut off, which is seven years. Seventy weeks is determined for thy people, seven years approximately to the Jews. He said, "And Messiah, the Prince shall come and prophesy in the midst of the seven days, will He be cut off. In the abomination maketh desolations will stand in its place, and they'll tread down the walls of Jerusalem, Gentiles, for a time, time, and dividing of time."
The Mosque of Omar stands where the Temple stood. Wrong.
Now, when Messiah come, Jesus, He preached exactly three and a half years and was cut off for a sacrifice. The daily obligation was taken away and the desolate, the abomination that maketh desolation, the Mosque of Omar was stood today in the place of the holy temple. The Mosque of Omar stands exactly where the temple stood. And He said that they would tread down the walls of Jerusalem, over Jerusalem, until the Gentile dispensation be finished.
The current Mosque of Omar is about half a kilometer outside the Temple site.
61-0618 REVELATION CHAPTER FIVE.2
The Lamb, the Messiah, the Prince should come and should be for seventy weeks (that's seven years)
[Wrong. Seventieth week or last week]
that was prophesied to His people. And the Prince would be cut off in the midst, that's three and a half, the half of seven is three and a half, would be cut off. And the daily sacrifice would be done away with; and the abomination that maketh desolation (which the Moslem of Omar stood on the temple grounds the day when they burnt the temple), and then there is three and a half years yet left to the Israel.
Here brother Branham agrees that the Jews have only got 3½ years left (half a week)
So, brother Branham preached “3½ years left” before and after preaching Daniel’s 70th week in 1961.
Why he changed his mind in 1961 and quoted from Clarence Larkin’s “Dispensational Truth” to say that there are 7 years left, is a puzzle.
…(which the Moslem of Omar stood on the temple grounds the day when they burnt the temple)
This sentence has 3 main mistakes.
There is no such thing as a Moslem of Omar.
There is a current Mosque of Omar (next to but south of the church of the Holy Sepulchre) that was built in 1193 that is about 500 metres away from the Dome of the Rock which is in the centre of the Temple site (Haram Al-Sharif), shown as a white rectangle on the right.
If the temple site is where Solomon’s Temple once stood then the only building in the middle of the site is the Dome of the Rock, which is not a mosque. But that has a big rock inside it, which is unlikely to be the threshing floor which David originally bought. There is no water source in the Temple site which is surrounded by big walls. But they needed water to wash all the sacrifices and clean the blood away. Thus, many people question whether the Temple ever stood on this site as the Romans threw down all the stones in their attempts to destroy the Temple site in AD 70 under general Titus and in AD 135 under the emperor Hadrian. Hadrian hated the Jews and wanted to remove all evidence of where their Temple had been. To leave the site surrounded by four big walls would have made it obvious where the Temple was.
Omar initially built a small house of prayer in AD 637, when the Arabs conquered Jerusalem, where the Al-Aksa mosque now stands in the corner of the temple site.
But this was 567 years after the Temple was burnt down by Titus in AD 70.
Later a Mosque of Omar was built on the east border of the Holy Sepulchre church. It has since disappeared.
61-0618 REVELATION CHAPTER FIVE.2
And Christ came and preached and prophesied just exactly three and a half years, and the daily sacrifice was taken away, everything just as perfect as it could be. And the Moslem of Omar was right... built on the same grounds and stands there to this day. And they will tread down the walls of Jerusalem until the Gentile dispensation will be finished, the Church is taken up (the Elect, the Bride) out of there.
And the two prophets, Elijah and Moses, turns to Israel for them other three and a half years.
Again, before preaching Daniel's Seventieth Week, brother Branham was believing that there were three and a half years left, not seven.
61-0723 GOD BEING MISUNDERSTOOD
In A.D. 96, Titus came in and captured Jerusalem and burnt the temple, and they built the Mosque of Omar (the Mohammedan religion) right on the temple grounds, and still stands there to this day.
Two mistakes. The Roman general Titus burnt the Temple in AD 70.
The Mosque of Omar is 500 metres away from the Dome of the Rock and is thus outside the Temple grounds.
AD 96 was when the Roman emperor Domitian, who had imprisoned John on the island of Patmos, died. Then all political prisoners were released and John left the island of Patmos as an old man. He then was inspired to select all the Books of the New Testament which ended with his own “The Revelation of Jesus Christ”.
He ended this last Book by saying
REVELATION 22:18 … If any man shall add unto these things…
:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the Book of this prophecy…
A warning against saying that the King James Bible is not the Absolute and is not Infallible. We are not allowed to change it in any way.
We are not allowed to replace any Scriptures with quotes.
We can only use quotes to explain the Scriptures.
DEUTERONOMY 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
Change or disbelieve anything in the Bible and you are in trouble.
63-0116 THE EVENING MESSENGER
Notice, if the Gentile church has to be taken away first, for the Jews, then the end of the Seventy weeks of Daniel takes place. The three and a half years Messiah prophesied, and then He was cut off, the Prince, in the middle of the seventieth week. And, then, there's three and a half weeks left yet.
Wrong. Not "three and a half weeks". A week is 7 days.
There are three and a half days left which represents three and a half years.
Two months before brother Branham revealed the Seven Seals, he was already aware of there being 3½ years left.
The puzzle is why he preached 3½ years before “Daniel’s Seventieth Week” and then preached it after
“Daniel’s Seventieth Week”.
Why did he let Clarence Larkin’s “Dispensational Truth” influence him for that one sermon on “Daniel’s Seventieth Week”?
63-0318 THE FIRST SEAL
Now, look, Malachi 4. He's a prophet and restores the original faith of the fathers. At the end time, when the tribulation period comes... Now, here's a little thing; we're going to reverse back a minute, where the three and a half years or Daniel's seventy weeks (the last half of Daniel's seventy weeks which is three and one-half years.)... Now, we... How many remembers that from the church ages? Sure, you see? There's seventy weeks determined: look how perfect it was; said, "Messiah will come, and He'll be cut off for a Sacrifice in the midst of the week, and the obligation will cease."
[Where he said “seventy weeks” he meant the “seventieth week” or the last seven years]
Then there is still three and a half years waited for the Messiahic doctrine to the Jew, and God does not deal with the Jew and the Gentile at the same time.
63-0318 THE FIRST SEAL
Now, just seventy weeks was determined, perfectly, as Daniel said that Messiah would come and would be cut off in the midst of the week. And Jesus prophesied three and a half years.
Now, in the middle of this three and a half years of Daniel, in the middle of it He was cut off.
This last sentence is wrong. He was not cut off in the midst of the 3½ years.
He was cut off AFTER 3½ years, which was in the midst of the last 7 years. The last 7 years were the 70th week.
So, the last seven years were half-fulfilled by Jesus, and the second half of the last week was pushed about 2000 years into the future to be fulfilled during during great Tribulation.
Do not place your confidence in a quote unless you can confirm it with Scripture and known facts.
Find where the quote illuminates Scripture and then place your confidence in the Scripture.
He never stood below the 1963 Cloud (There were 2 clouds)
Consider three different statements that brother Branham made concerning the supernatural cloud of 28 February 1963. At about 42 kilometers high it was too high to be a natural cloud. There was no face in the cloud.
He said the cloud hung in the air, he also said it came down, and then he also said that it went up.
(Factually, there were two clouds that were only seen for 28 minutes after sunset moving from west to east).
Brother Branham never saw the cloud and was unaware of those facts.
This is the main supernatural cloud photographed from the Tucson observatory when it was just north of Flagstaff in Arizona.
The face (and a bright light next to it) only appeared in a photostat of the cloud photograph.
Brother Branham never saw the cloud. He first mentions it some months later in June 1963.
63-0628 O LORD JUST ONCE MORE
Now science took the picture of It, you seen It, went on Associated Press. They didn't know what It was. There is a Cloud hanging, twenty-six miles high
Correct. The cloud was only visible for 28 minutes just after sunset and it stayed at that height, about 42 kilometers high. It was not seen to move up or down. It did move from east to west.
63-0630 IS YOUR LIFE WORTHY OF THE GOSPEL
And say, let's say, maybe it's fifteen miles till you can't get no more vapor. But this is twenty-six miles, and she hung there all day. See? They don't know what It is. But, thank the Lord, we do.
Not true. Not all day. The cloud was only visible for 28 minutes just after sunset.
A cloud that is above about 20 kilometers (or 12 miles) is too thinly spread out and is called noctilucent because it cannot be seen during daylight against the glare of the blue sky. It can only be seen just after sunset against the dark sky
So, nobody could see a cloud at that height during daylight. So to say it was hanging there all day is wrong.
Normal clouds are usually not visible in daylight unless they are below 12 miles (20 kilometers) in height.
A faint dotted line shows the high altitude clouds that cannot be seen in daylight.
But when the sun drops below the horizon it can illuminate high altitude artificial clouds made from smoke, water vapour from exhaust fumes from rockets or jets, and certain chemicals. Strangely enough, when a gallon of gasoline or petrol burns in an engine it creates a gallon of water in the exhaust fumes.
The height of the cloud was demonstrated by it only being visible briefly after sunset.
Brother Branham knew that the angels who visited him had formed the cloud as well but he did not realize that they were two different events separated by 8 days and 200 miles.
The supernatural cloud was photographed north of Flagstaff just after sunset on 28 February 1963.
The 7 angels visited him on 8 March 1963 at about 8 o'clock in the morning near Sunset Peak, about 200 miles south of Flagstaff.
65-0725 WHAT IS THE ATTRACTION ON THE MOUNTAIN
So high they can't be fog, mist, or nothing up there. "What did it? Where is it at?" They're just as puzzled of that supernatural Halo hanging yonder in the sky
Correct. It hung at that height without moving up or down.
Brother Branham did not know why the scientist Dr. James McDonald was puzzled because Life magazine that showed the cloud never mentioned that there were two clouds.
The next photograph was taken from Winslow which is in the path of the moving clouds.
One cloud was supernatural formed by the angels and the other cloud was a smoke cloud formed by an exploding rocket at Vandenburg Airforce Base in California.
Science could only explain one cloud in terms of an exploding rocket, not two clouds. That is why the scientist was puzzled.
This next picture is a diagram, not a photograph. It shows how the two clouds moved from the west to the east and only became briefly visible for 28 minutes just after sunset.
Certain message-pastors frantically deny that there were two clouds. But there is the photographic evidence from Winslow.
Why is a smoke cloud necessary to be with the supernatural cloud?
65-1127 TRYING TO DO GOD A SERVICE WITHOUT IT BEING GOD'S WILL
His wings pointed back like that. That's exactly the wings of that Angel as it went up. See, as it... So they started taking the pictures because it was so mysterious. But when the last picture, when It formed Itself into the skies and so forth, this is it as Look here packed it. You see how it rose up just as they begin to see it, you see. And there comes the--the real main and last picture, when it formed.
They don't know where it come from or where it went, they don't know yet. Science is completely stumped about it, don't know what happened. But we know; "there shall be signs in the heaven above."
A high altitude smoke cloud was also prophesied.
Peter speaks of a high altitude smoke vapour that would look just like a water vapour cloud. But the smoke vapour (in other words, a smoke cloud) would be too high to be a water vapour cloud. So a cloud that is about 42 kilometers high would have to be made from thinly dispersed smoke particles.
ACTS 2:19
And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke.
This was a sign that God was about to reveal the Seven Seals.
But here brother Branham thinks that the angels formed the cloud as they left him and went up to Heaven.
That was wrong.
No cloud formed on the day that the angels visited him.
Please be careful.
What message people call "the cloud-doctrine", which they develop into the coming of the Lord or the coming down of the mighty Angel in Revelation Chapter 10, is an illusion based on an unfortunate mistake that brother Branham made.
He thought the cloud formed on the day that the angels met him.
He was mistaken.
63-0623 STANDING IN THE GAP
And, now, I didn't know at the time, that they were taking pictures of that, scientists was, as the Angels lowered themselves from Heaven, to bring the Message.
… See the pyramid of the Cloud? I was standing just below this.
Very wrong. He never stood below the cloud.
Sunset Peak was 200 miles south of Flagstaff. It was the wrong place and the wrong date as the angels met him 8 days after the cloud was photographed.
Having said that the cloud hung there all day, and also that the angels went up when they formed the cloud, he now claims that the cloud came down to him as the angels lowered themselves from heaven.
If the angels that formed the cloud came down or went up, then the cloud was not hanging in the sky.
So, brother Branham is getting his guesses muddled up.
Remember. He never saw the cloud when he was hunting.
The cloud was photographed on 28 February 1963 just north of the city of Flagstaff in Arizona.
Brother Branham was not hunting then as the javelina pig hunting season opens on 1 March and closes on 10 March. He preaches “An Absolute” in Houston, Texas on 4 March 1963. Houston is 1000 miles away from Sunset Peak. So, he could not have got back to Sunset Peak before 6 March.
Thus, he never saw the Cloud.
According to his daughter Becky, in her article "Return to Sunset” or “Road to Sunset”, the seven angels who had formed the cloud on 28 February just after sunset then appeared to brother Branham at 8 o’clock in the morning on 8 March 1963 near Sunset Peak. On that day they never formed a cloud.
This was 8 days later and 200 miles south of where the cloud was seen.
The angels came to him and left him without forming any cloud on 8 March 1963.
Brother Branham knew nothing about the cloud until a few months later. His first public comment about the Cloud was in June 1963.
Then, unfortunately, he assumed that the cloud was seen on the day that the angels came to visit him at Sunset Peak.
That was a major mistake. The cloud was seen 8 days before the angels came to him.
You can now see him guessing about the cloud.
“It hung in the sky all day”. Not true.
Any cloud between roughly 20 kilometers and 80 kilometers in height cannot be seen during daylight against the glare of the blue sky.
They can only be seen after sunset or before sunrise (which is when satellites are most visible).
That is why they are called noctilucent clouds (visible at night).
65-0718 SPIRITUAL FOOD IN DUE SEASON
… and I and Brother Gene Norman, standing right there present when it went up. They took the picture, still they don't know what about it.
Now, to add to the confusion, he again claims that the cloud went up as the angels left him.
63-1201 AN ABSOLUTE
One day, standing there, picking the cockleburs off, or a little bullheaders off of my legs, like it was; there that seven Angels broke through from the sky and shook the place, till, rocks, weighing fifty or sixty pounds, rolled down the hillside. There stood seven Angels standing there, commissioned me go back and to bring these Messages, and said, "One by one" they would "meet and tell what happened." And it did exactly that way. And when they ascended up on High, like that, went thirty miles high in the air; and, on the same day, they took the picture of It, science did, and went around the world.
Again he says the cloud went up.
So he has said the cloud went up, it came down, and it hung all day in the sky.
He has obviously confused the facts.
It was not the same day either.
The cloud was seen 8 days before the angels came to him.
Clouds above about 12 miles are so thinly spread out because the air is so thin at that height that they are not visible in daylight against the glare of the blue sky.
This is an excellent lesson to see how Scriptural message-pastors are.
Many people claim that the mighty Angel of Revelation Chapter 10 was the cloud coming down.
Coming down? Ascending up? Or hanging in the sky all day when it cannot be seen in daylight at that height?
That doctrine is obviously wrong.
What does brother Branham say about the mighty Angel of Revelation Chapter 10?
64-0119 SHALOM
When that Angel, of Revelation the 10th chapter, puts one foot on land and one on the sea, and a rainbow over His head, He swore, "time shall be no more." When that time comes, you will rise up from among the dead. While the rest of them lay there, you will go in.
This is what he says about the Angel about a year after the cloud was seen. The Angel will still be coming down in the future. So, the cloud was obviously not the Angel.
The Angel comes down to raise the dead. That obviously has not yet happened as yet (2020).
65-1127 I HAVE HEARD BUT NOW I SEE
Dear God, in this solemn moment, it's going to be a time like this when there really will be a clap of thunder someday, and the Son of God shall descend from the heavens with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and the trump of God, the dead in Christ shall rise.
One month before he died and brother Branham was still waiting for the Archangel, the mighty Angel of Revelation Chapter 10, to come down to perform the resurrection.
Thus, the cloud was not the coming down of the Angel of Revelation Chapter 10.
He was also waiting for the shout to happen.
The shout was not brother Branham revealing the mysteries of Scripture. The shout is when the Bride can prove the revelation of the mysteries just from the Bible.
Fake News.
This next picture does the rounds in message-assemblies.
It claims that the cloud was "Christ on Sunset Mountain".
The cloud never was seen on Sunset Mountain. It was 200 miles north at Flagstaff.
The cloud never came down to earth. It was only seen for 28 minutes when it stayed at a height of about 30 miles (about 42 kilometers).
Sunset mountain or Sunset Peak is in the great Sonoran desert.
But Christ will not come in a desert.
MATTHEW 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth:
People today are Bible-ignorant and thus easily fooled.
What then was the cloud a sign of?
64-0112 SHALOM
There it hangs now in the Life Magazine, still a mystery to them. But He declares it in the heavens before He does it on earth. He always does that. He shows His signs in the heavens first.
MATTHEW 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days
The amateur tribulation of Eichmann and Hitler, called the Holocaust, where they killed 6 million Jews in World War 2.
... shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven,
The sun represents the Bible. Christians no longer regard the King James Version as perfectly infallible and our Absolute. So the light of Scripture darkens.
The moon represents the church. The church no longer reflects the light of Scripture. The church reflects the opinions of the pastors.
That is a mixture of darkness and delusions.
The last church of the Laodiceans is described as blind. Bible teachers are banished because they speak from the Bible to prove their points. Message-people want quotes because they are too lazy to study Scriptures.
The stars are the seed of Abraham. The preachers fall from their heavenly calling to preach the Word only. They now preach what is popular and profitable. That is why all ten virgins (all the churches) are fast asleep.
DANIEL 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
Then something impossible happens high up in the sky. Angel wings form a cloud that is too high.
... and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
A supernatural cloud 30 miles up in the sky breaks all the powers and laws of atmospheric physics. Natural science cannot explain supernatural angels doing the impossible.
MATTHEW 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven:
But the supernatural cloud is a sign that those 7 angels will speak to the prophet 8 days later and commission him to reveal the Seven Seals.
65-0718 TRYING TO DO GOD A SERVICE WITHOUT BEING THE WILL OF GOD
And then in that great observatory, so that the world will be without, they're still wondering what happened. In Tucson, them big observatories took the picture of it up there; still wondering what happened. What is it? They still put in the paper, "Does anybody know anything about what, how it could have happen?" There is no fog up there, there's no air, there's no moisture; thirty miles high in the air. Oh, my!
"There shall be signs in the heaven above. And when these things take place, earthquakes in divers places, then shall appear the sign in the heaven, of the Son of man."
[The cloud was a sign in the Heaven that the mysteries of the Scripture were about to be revealed]
... The Bible said, in Malachi 4, what would happen today. Revelations 10, how the Seven Seals would be opened and reveal all these mysteries that's been hid through these reformers! He said how it would be done. It's in the Bible, THUS SAITH THE LORD. God has completely, perfectly identified that; and vindicate It to be Truth, by signs, wonders in the heavens, in the skies, and everything else, for thirty-three years.
Wonders: a supernatural cloud and far-too-high smoke cloud.
Natural and supernatural combined as a sign of the third Exodus starting.
Bride individuals coming out of the church systems.
Moses saw a natural bush that burned supernaturally without burning up.
Natural and supernatural combined as a sign to attract attention so that the first Exodus could start.
MALACHI 4:4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, ...
:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet
REVELATION 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
A huge problem today is that people are falling away from the need to get saved.
Church-goers no longer feel that they need to genuinely and sincerely repent of their sins. People are losing the desire to ask Jesus into their hearts so that He can fully control their lives. Our modern age does not want to become totally submitted to the will of God as they no longer believe that the King James Bible is the infallible Word of God. But each one of us has to make these decisions. The decision is between each person and the Lord Jesus. It has nothing to do with any church.
If you genuinely receive forgiveness of your sins from Jesus, then no man could ever take the place of Jesus in your heart. Because no man could ever forgive your sins.
