Jesus is both God and Man

The supernatural Father dwells in Jesus. So Jesus brings God down to our level and opens our eyes to understand His Word

Natural light has amazing properties that enable us to see. Jesus as the spiritual Light shows us how God thinks which is even more amazing.

Scientists have discovered that natural light is almost impossible to really understand. It can behave like a localized moving particle and yet also behaves as a wave spreading out in all directions like ripples on the surface of water.

Jesus is the Light of the world. Jesus as a Man was localized in one place on earth but yet as God, Who is a Spirit, He was everywhere. Our human brains cannot really grasp how one Person can behave in two such totally opposite ways. But God’s awesome abilities are not limited by our inability to understand Him.

JOHN 1:48   “Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.”

How did Jesus know that Philip had called Nathanael? How did Jesus know that Nathanael was under a fig tree?

JOHN 3:13   “And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven,

even the Son of man which is in heaven.”

As God, Jesus was in Heaven as a supernatural Spirit that is unlimited. But, at the same time, He was on earth in the form of a Man Who was in one place until He moved.

The dazzling supernatural of God would blind us in the same way that staring at the Sun will quickly blind us. To view an eclipse, we use a Mylar screen in the form of eclipse-sunglasses. Mylar is thousands of times darker than ordinary sunglasses. Then we can safely look at the sun because about 99% of the sunlight is blocked by the Mylar screen.

I Timothy 6:16     “Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto”.

Jesus shields us from God’s wrath by cleansing us from our sins. His Holy Spirit slowly teaches us the deeper meaning of Scripture that we could never understand by our own efforts. Jesus the Man, acts like a Mylar screen, whereby we can look at the supernatural God within Him safely. We learn about God from the Words and actions of Jesus. This gives us a greater desire to be more Scriptural ourselves.

Jesus as a Man was trying to show us a portion of the supernatural power of God that is too deep for us to comprehend. Jesus was bringing the unlimited Spirit of God down to our level because our thinking is localized and limited.

God is one Person.

DEUTERONOMY 6:4   “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:”

The Holy Ghost overshadowed Mary to conceive a Child.

MATTHEW 1:20   “But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife:

for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.”

That means the Holy Ghost is God the Father. Only one Person can make a woman pregnant as a baby can only have one father.

Jesus is the Man that God dwelled in. The entire Spirit of God dwelled in Him bodily.

COLOSSIANS 2:9   “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”

The Son is the natural Man and the Father is the supernatural Spirit within Him.

But you are everything that is within you. That is why Jesus is God.

God is not flesh and bone.

God is not a Man, God is a Spirit.

NUMBERS 23:19   “God is not a man,”

JOHN 4:24   “God is a Spirit:”

Jesus is a Man but because God fully dwelled inside Him, He is also God.

God became a Man. Jesus is the only Man Who is God.

Father and Son are simply a way of describing how the Supernatural Spirit fused or merged with the Natural Man to produce a Man-God Person.

We cannot imagine or understand or see the invisible Spirit of God.

JOHN 1:18   “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”

By dwelling in the Man Jesus, God starts coming down to our level. We begin to understand what God would be like if He were a Man.

Part of God is human. During His 33 years on earth, the human side of God’s nature was able to develop as Jesus grew from a baby to an adult. His humanity then learned to be totally submissive to the supernatural. He was the Lamb being led by the Dove. His humanity learned to withstand temptation when the Devil tempted Him while physically weak after a 40-day fast. God’s Holy Spirit was then a combination of Supernatural and natural.

Consequently, when God fills you with a portion of the Holy Spirit you receive a supernatural portion as well as a human portion which will make you into the real person that God wants you to be. Then your old human spirit can die.

When God appeared in the body of a Man, then God took on the human name of Jesus.

In the Old Testament, God did not really have a name. He was called Jehovah (for the unpronounceable JHVH) or Yahweh (for the unpronounceable YHWH) or El or Elah or Elohim or Adonai. Notice, not one name. Then when Samson’s parents asked for the name of God, the reply came back that the name was secret.

God appeared to Samson’s parents in the body of an Angel, the Angel of the Lord.

JUDGES 13:18   “And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret?”

Jacob wrestled with God in the form of a Man. God just made a temporary adult body for Himself from the dust. This was not a true Kinsman as He was not born of a woman.

Again, God refused to reveal His Old Testament name.

GENESIS 32:29    “And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.”

When the Hebrew-speaking Jews crucified Christ, God rejected Hebrew and wrote the New Testament in Greek. Alexander the Great had conquered a huge empire and the Greek language had spread far and wide. This was the best language to use in order to spread the Gospel to the Gentiles.

As a result, none of the Old Testament Hebrew “names” for God appear in the New Testament.

“God the Father” never appears in the Old Testament. And all the Hebrew names that Trinitarians claim for God the Father in the Old Testament are never found in the New Testament.

“God the Father” is only written in the New Testament, but He is never given a name in the New Testament.

If you believe in a Trinity (unscriptural word) of three separate Persons then you cannot find a name for the Trinity God. Three People cannot have one name. You will say, “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” but you cannot say what that name is.

Thanks to the Trinity idea, God loses His name.

But the third commandment says not to swear in the name of God.

Sinners swear in the name of Jesus Christ. You do not hear them swearing in the name of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

So, sinners can tell you the name of God while church-goers cannot. A sad irony.

When Jesus was on earth, the demons knew who He was but the Jews did not know. History repeats itself.
