No time is mentioned for the creation of the universe

To create means to make something from nothing.

GENESIS 1:1

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

The Sun, the Moon, and all the stars, and planets were created in the first verse.

God created everything before He began specifying the time of the first seven days.

Creation means to make out of nothing.

There is no mention of any duration of time in the first verse of the Bible.

You are free to assume any length of time that you feel is appropriate for the creation of the Earth and deep space. It could have taken billions of years to create all the stars as well as our solar system.

That would give starlight all the time it needed to reach the earth from the most distant galaxies.

God was in no rush. After all, He lives in eternity where there is no time. But, applying time to creation events that were done by God who dwells in eternity, is probably a pointless exercise. We can picture eternity as where we escape from time.

God created deep space and the Sun, Moon, and the Earth out of nothing. As there is no mention of time, we do not know how long God took to create the physical Earth. God wanted the Earth to sustain life so He had to cover it in a deep layer of water. Life requires a lot of water. But as long as the Earth was far away from the Sun, it was very cold. Thus the surface layer of water would be frozen and the Earth looked like a snowball, all covered in a deep layer of ice. This was the first ice age.

Then God had to nudge the frozen Earth closer to the Sun and the ice began to melt. The frozen blocks of ice, as they began melting, moved over the surface of the Earth and began shaping the surface of the Earth. God pushed the massive ice blocks and glaciers around until He had shaped and scraped the surface of the Earth to His liking.

Then the ice blocks all melted and the entire Earth was covered in a deep layer of water.

If God wanted another ice age He would move the Earth further away from the sun until the water froze again. Then He moves the Earth back towards the sun to melt and form another ice-age-scraping of the surface. God could repeat that process many times if He so wished.

After the final ice age, the world would be covered in a deep layer of water.

But water evaporates and forms clouds.

So dense clouds formed above the surface of the Earth and these thick cloud banks blotted out the sunlight. Above the clouds, the Sun was shining but below the clouds, all the water surface was in darkness.

As the clouds began to form they caused darkness below the clouds.

Moses was watching these events in a vision.

As the vision moved over the surface of the Earth, all Moses could see was the flat surface of the water. Water has no shape or form of its own. It always flows to take on the shape of its container. Water on the Earth’s surface cannot form hills and valleys, it just lies flat, as far as Moses could see.

GENESIS 1:2

And the earth was without form, and void; 

(the surface of the water was just flat and empty, it had no shape whatsoever. Just a huge expanse of emptiness.)

and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

(The deep waters from the melted icebergs and glaciers were covered in darkness in the same way that thick clouds caused by evaporating seawater can block the sunlight from reaching the Earth’s surface).

And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Having created the Earth which could not create itself, God now decided to put life on the Earth.

Only God was moving at the beginning.

Time had not yet been mentioned so we do not know how long these events had taken. But the Spirit of God moved over the waters and He was busy planting the seeds of life underneath the surface of the Earth which was under the water, which was under the clouds.

When God moves, He brings life where there is no life.

So God now had to remove the clouds and water and bring forth the life that was in the seeds.

The fuzzy yellow shape represents God.

Having planted the seeds below the water, God could now look down on the Earth that was still covered in water and darkness.  God had a specific plan whereby He was going to fill the Earth with life.

Thus far His creation was not associated with any specific time. We do not know how long God took.

So we cannot tell from Genesis chapter 1 how old the Earth actually is.

God only mentioned time when He decided to put life on the Earth that had already been created.

The Big Bang theory of creation is not good Science

A major science theory that intimidates non-scientists is the Big Bang, which is impossible as a creation mechanism because scientists, if they start with nothing at the beginning, cannot tell us what exploded. So they pretend or assume that a “cosmic egg” or some such thing miraculously just appeared.

They need this miracle to get started but will not acknowledge it as a miracle because Science does not deal in miracles.

Where did this "something" come from? No one knows.

How did it come into existence from nothing? No one knows.

What was it? No one knows.

Whatever exploded had to be something. But right at the beginning, there was “nothing”, neither matter nor energy. And “nothing” cannot explode.

Scientists never start with "nothing". They always say there was some kind of energy. But that is a fraud as they are supposed to explain how this energy came from nothing.

The first law of Physics says that energy cannot be created.

Scientists contradict this by saying that all the energy in the universe was created within the first three minutes of the Big Bang.

There is absolutely no physical evidence of what the Universe looked like before the Big Bang. There are plenty of theories, but no evidence. Good science is based on evidence. So creation from nothing is not good science, owing to the obvious lack of physical evidence.

Scientists say that the Big Bang created space. That means there was no space before the Big Bang. Thus there was nowhere for the “cosmic egg” to be before it exploded.

The Big Bang theory is thus not good science.

Certain top scientists like Nobel prize winner Steven Weinberg and Alan Guth, who both used to champion the Big Bang, then had to distance themselves from it. The Big Bang neither predicted Dark Energy and Dark Matter nor does the Big Bang explain either Dark Energy or Dark Matter which make up 96% of the universe.

The renowned scientist Carl Sagan in his classic book "Cosmos" speaks of "...our modern scientific myth of the Big Bang"... and then adds "in one cosmology the universe is created, somehow, ten or twenty billion years ago and expands forever..." (Page 258 - 259). Sagan himself was a great believer in evolution and the Big Bang. But he could also see flaws in this theory. His use of the word "somehow" obviously reveals that there is a total lack of evidence for this process. All evolutionists have to describe the start of the universe with evasive words like "maybe", "perhaps", "somewhere", "possibly", etc.

Sagan was in favour of having two Big Bangs so that matter could collide and stick together.

Fred Hoyle suggested multiple mini Bangs as a better solution. But the mathematics is too hard to solve.

Science is on very unsure ground when trying to deal with the origin of the Universe. In terms of factual data, it has no grounds to stand on. Just hopeful guesses.

A note of warning from Saint Paul :

I TIMOTHY 6:20

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings,

and oppositions of science falsely so called:

:21     Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. 

When science contradicts the Bible it is the science that is wrong.

Science is a mixture of fact and theory, which is informed guessing. Science is very accurate when dealing with facts, but may or may not be right when dealing with theories. Theories only become valid when they are confirmed by facts. Even then the theory is uncertain because a later fact may yet disprove the theory if the theory is unable to explain that later fact. Scientific theories are built on guesses because the scientists were not there to see what originally happened. For example, in 1958 they told us from their Earth-based measurements that the temperature of Venus was about 18◦C  and that it was covered in clouds and thus the surface was mainly water. We thought these were good guesses based on accurate measurements and observations. But when they got a rocket to Venus they found that the temperature was about 450◦C and the clouds were made of sulfuric acid. Thus there is no water on Venus. And remember, Venus is our closest planet and scientists got that one wrong.

Before Americans landed on the Moon scientists told us that the highlands of the Moon were made by volcanoes that threw up the molten rock just like it did on Earth. When the astronauts landed on the highlands of the Moon they discovered no evidence of volcanic action. So things on the Moon did not form in the same way that they did on Earth. That is the basic problem with scientific theories - we simply do not know how accurate they are. Until scientists have been there and measured everything, scientists can never be sure of the conclusions predicted by a theory. No scientist was present at the creation of the Universe. We do not have any physical evidence of what the universe was like, just before the creation started. So that is a "no go" area for good science.

Please do not reject what the Bible says just because science says something different. Only God was at the creation. So His version is the only statement that we have from an Observer or Witness.

In court, a judge always wants to know from a witness “Did you see it happen?”  Only God can answer “Yes” to that question.

The light of truth versus the darkness of human opinion

God's first Day separated light and dark to prepare the created earth that it could sustain life.

Returning to Genesis, God decided to bring forth the life in the seeds that were under the soil, under the water, and under the clouds.

GENESIS 1:3

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

The sunlight was already there but it could not penetrate the thick cloud banks to reach the Earth.

When God said “Let there be light”, the spoken Word of God struck the thick cloud banks and broke them up so completely that the water molecules in the clouds were turned back into their basic atoms of oxygen and hydrogen gas. These transparent gases thus formed a high, protective veil around the Earth which allowed the sunlight through.

Thus the sunlight could strike the Earth.

The infrared heat waves from the Sun would disperse through this outer veil of gases and become uniformly distributed by the time it reached the Earth. Thus,  there was a uniform temperature around the Earth and no rain would form. Rain forms when the hot air and cold air meet. For example, on a cold day, your hot breath hits the cold windscreen of your car and the water vapour condenses and forms a foggy layer on the windscreen.

The comet Linear which broke apart near the Sun in AD 2000 yielded a cloud of hydrogen gas and oxygen gas that was formed by the breaking up or dissociation of about 3.3 million tonnes of water. This indicates that water can easily break up into its two component gases, hydrogen and oxygen, in space.

GENESIS 1:4

And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

Everything God makes is good. The half of the Earth that faced the Sun was in daylight. The half of the Earth that faced away from the Sun was in darkness.

Darkness was not a special creation, it was simply an absence of light.

Unbelief, which is sin, is simply an absence of Scripture. Whatever we believe that is not based exactly on the written Word, which is called the Bible, is unbelief or spiritual darkness.

Unscriptural words like Trinity, Lent, Good Friday, Easter Monday, rosary, Christmas, 25 December just mean that our modern churches are in darkness.

After all, we were never asked in the Bible to celebrate the birthday of Jesus. That is why that date was never recorded in the Bible.

One of God's Days is 1000 of our years

GENESIS 1:5And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

This is the first mention of time.

There were no humans present so God did not need to measure in human days of 24 hours.

Only God was present so He measured in “God-days”.

How long is a “God-day”?    1000 of our human years.

II PETER 3:8

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing,

that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years,

and a thousand years as one day.

The first step in Christianity is to repent of our sins and accept Jesus as our Saviour. That is how we get saved.

This first God-day of 1000 years thus symbolizes the first step of salvation which is when we "see the Light".

Our hearts are covered in a dense layer of sin or unbelief. When we repent, God’s Word strikes the layer of sin and unbelief and demolishes it until our sins can no longer be seen. Freed from sin we rejoice in the Light of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who died for our sins. Remember, He was always there but only now that our sins are forgiven, are we able to see for the first time how marvelous He is.

God did not have to take 1000 years to disperse the cloud banks and remove the darkness. He chose to take that long. He waited until the 1000 years were up. Then "Day One" or the first 1000 years was over and time to start the second step.

This first Day saw nothing being created. God was making the created raw Earth fit for humans to dwell on.

The thick clouds from the evaporated seawater were turned into an invisible veil of protective gases, hydrogen and oxygen, by the spoken Word of God. God speaks and it happens. That is real power.

When God speaks to our souls and we accept Him, then salvation happens and we change.

The light of the sun that was already there was now able to reach the earth.

Water can break up into hydrogen and oxygen gases

Protective gases from water were above the atmosphere that was above the sea.

The sea represents the restless nations and peoples. We must get our wisdom, guidance, and protection from above if we are to be protected from the consequences of human ambition, selfishness, and greed.

GENESIS 1:6

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

The first necessity for life is to have light.

Then living things need an atmosphere to breathe.

Once we have the light of salvation by faith, then we need the atmosphere of holiness.

So, God then filled the space between the waters of the sea down below that covered the Earth and the high-up waters of the clouds that He had broken up into water's component gases of hydrogen and oxygen. [God would join these high-up gases together to re-form water in Noah’s day, and then cause all this water to rain down on the Earth. Thus the protective veil of gases rained down as water. With no protective veil above the  Earth, the harsh components of the sunlight, like ultraviolet, struck the Earth and people began to die at a younger age after the Flood.]

GENESIS 1:7

And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

An atmosphere of breathable gases was called the firmament.

The percentage of gases in the air needs to be very precise. If there is less than 16% oxygen then fires will not burn and the food will not burn in our cells to give us energy and keep us warm. If the oxygen is more than 21% then fires become difficult to control.

GENESIS 1:8

And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

We humans “look up” to see Heaven as we know that Heaven is a higher dimension. So our atmosphere is also a symbol of Heaven.

Because the Earth has an atmosphere of air, the air molecules scatter the blue component of sunlight in all directions. Blue light has a short wavelength and is very energetic. Part of the blue light scatters downwards towards the Earth. When we look up, we see the blue light coming down to us. Thus we see the sky as having a blue colour.

This is symbolic of the throne of God.

EZEKIEL 1:26

And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.

(Sapphire is a blue stone).

God took 1000 years to get the atmosphere established so that living things could breathe.

In our Christian experience, the first step is to get saved as we repent of our sins which enables us to “see the Light”. Our next step is to develop an atmosphere of holiness or sanctification.

HEBREWS 12:14

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

I THESSALONIANS 4:3

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

Scientists claimed that somehow life started when the Earth's atmosphere was full of poisonous gases like ammonia and methane. But they find no evidence of these gases in the early rocks. Starting life in the midst of poisonous gases is not a very convincing argument.

Some scientific facts about water breaking up into invisible hydrogen and oxygen gas in space are given at the end of this study.

Day 3 separated the land from the sea

The third Day of preparing the earth for human life required the land to separate from the sea.

God's Word requires righteousness. We have to separate from sin and unbelief.

Now it was time for the third step, Day 3.

GENESIS 1:9

And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

The waters gathered together and pulled away from the land. The seas represent the restless multitudes and nations.
REVELATION 17:15
And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

As the unrighteous pull together to oppose the truth, so they leave the righteous isolated. The land represents the righteous. Sinners move away from and reject the righteous in order to join the majority and go with the flow, which is always downhill into error.

God now pushed up the land so that it stood above the sea. One large supercontinent, called Pangaea (all-Earth) by the scientists. In Noah’s day, God would use the colossal forces stirred up by the worldwide Flood to split up this large landmass into smaller continents.

GENESIS 1:10

And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

The dry land got a name, Earth. The water got no name.

The process of the gathering of the waters was called Seas. In the end, there will be an ecumenical move whereby the churches unite in their common rejection of portions of the Bible. Churches no longer take the Bible as their absolute. The meanings of words are changed to suit the people. Christians claim that there are mistakes in the Bible. There are now over 100 versions of the English Bible, all different from each other, that have been written. The Bible-believing Bride of Christ is thus cut off and left alone and separated as believers stay with the King James Bible. The Greek word for “church” means “called out” or "separated". Believing in the Bible makes one less and less wanted in the churches.

GENESIS 1:11

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

Now that the clouds had gone and the sunlight was reaching the Earth, and with an atmosphere that could be breathed and with the land separated from the Seas, it was time for the seeds that God had planted in the Earth to begin to germinate. Plants began to come forth, which was the first step in the miracle of life.

GENESIS 1:12

And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Each species of plant brings forth seeds that produce more of the same species.

GENESIS 1:13

And the evening and the morning were the third day.

This third step of producing botany life, which took place on the third Day, is symbolic of spiritual Life, the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit of God then takes control of the individual and begins to guide that person into God’s perfect will for that person. Previously we ran our own lives, but the Spirit-filled believers hand over control of their lives to God and let Him run their lives.

God makes the Sun control daytime on Earth

The Sun is our natural light and represents Jesus, the Word of God, Who is our spiritual Light.

Thus the Bible, not the church, must control how we walk in the Light of God's Word and find our position in God's Word.

We must realize that we are at the end of the seventh church age where every parable and prophecy condemns the end-time church. Thus, our only safety is to be restored back as individuals to what the early Christians of the first church age believed. That is the deep mystery of God.

The Holy Spirit has to guide us into all the Bible truth for our day. Only the Holy Spirit can make us understand the Bible.

JOHN 16:13   Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:

God allowed another 1000 years to pass before He made His next move.

God's fourth Day MADE the sun, which had been CREATED at the beginning, control the heat and light of daytime.

GENESIS 1:14

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

Up till now, all the development has been on the Earth. But the time had come for the Earth to fit into the bigger picture and find its correct position in space relative to the Sun, Moon, and stars.

The fourth step in the Christian experience, after going through justification, sanctification, and the Holy Spirit baptism is for the individual to find their God-appointed position in the spiritual Body of Christ, which is His church.

In the last church age of Laodicea we have to go back to the teachings of the early church.

The seed that is harvested at the end is identical to the seed that was planted in the first church age.

The harvest is when seed is pulled off the dead plant. This is a lovely analogy of the rapture or catching up of the Bride to meet the Lord in the air.

We need the Sun, and the Earth spinning around its axis, for days and nights to occur. The Earth must spin once in 24 human hours. If it spins slower, the day will be too long and the Earth will get too hot. Humans will also get too tired, having to work for these longer days. If it spins faster, the day will be too short to get all our work done. In addition, the day will not get hot enough and crops need this heat and light energy which they get from the Sun.

Thus the day depends on the spin rate of the Earth on its axis. The temperature of the day also depends on the Earth’s distance from the Sun. Too close and we get too hot, too far and we get too cold. So all these conditions are quite critical.

The year depends on the speed and time of the Earth-Sun orbit. If this speed goes much faster, the year will be shorter and crops will not have enough time to grow. If the movement is slower, the year will be longer and wintertime will be longer which means that we will not have enough food harvest from summer to get through the winter.

In Egypt, the brightest star Sirius appeared briefly above the eastern horizon one hour before sunrise every year on the same date. That day was always taken to be the first day of the new year. That was the same time that the Nile floods overflowed the river banks and left fertile soil on the fields for the new planting season. Egypt thus had the first accurate calendar that Julius Caesar copied for the Roman empire. We use almost the same calendar today.

Astronauts used the stars to navigate their way to the Moon and back.

Seasons are portions of the year. The easiest way to break up the year into portions is to use the Moon. The Moon is full, then it fades away until we see no Moon, and then it returns to being a full Moon about one month later. Each orbit of the Moon is about one-twelfth of a year. So the Moon approximately breaks up the year into twelve months.

Each season takes three months. A reasonably accurate indication of the seasons is given by the constellations of the stars.

Many stars are clumped into constellations. There are 88 constellations that are widely recognized. The North Star, Polaris, points north. The five stars of the southern Cross enable us to work out where south is. Stars have always been essential signs in the sky for navigation, especially for sailors out on the ocean during the previous centuries. Today the GPS system is taking over navigation.

In the southern hemisphere, we use the Southern Cross to find direction. This is symbolic of the spiritual truth that the Cross of Calvary is where we find direction in order to get to Heaven.

The north star always points north. This symbolizes Jesus Christ as being the same yesterday, today and forever. He is the unchanging Saviour.

HEBREWS 13:8

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Assume that the Earth is in its orbit around the Sun which enables humans to see different parts of the sky during the different seasons. We only see the stars at night when we look in the direction that is away from the Sun.

During the three months of each season, there are certain star constellations that are visible in the night sky. As long as those stars were visible at night, people knew which season they were in. The star constellations were the first calendar that people used. The names of the visible star constellations, in the northern sky, are written in red.

GENESIS 1:15

And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

God placed the Earth at critical distances from the Sun and the Moon. The Earth must be about 150 million kilometers from the Sun. The Earth is about 380000 km from the Moon. The Moon also pulls on the seawater and creates tides. This helps to stir up the nutrients in the sea so that it does not stagnate. If the Moon was closer, the tides would be too high. If the Moon was further away, the tides would be too low. There would not be a big enough stirring of the nutrients.

GENESIS 1:16

And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

God did not “create” from nothing on this day.

The Bible does not use the word "create".

The word "made" is used. "Make" has two meanings. It can mean forming something by putting parts together, or it can mean forcing a person or object to do something so as to arrive at or achieve some goal. Heaven and Earth had already been created from nothing. Thus there was no need to make heaven and Earth from something, they were already in existence.

But God now wanted to make them do something. They must dominate the Earth's sky by being the main sources of light.

The Bible uses the word "made" which means that

God made them do some task,

to be rulers of the day and night.

He made the Sun dominate the day

and He made the Moon dominate the night.

The Sun and Moon were already there and did not need to be brought into existence.

He “made the Sun and Moon do something”.  He made them fulfill their functions.

He made each one serve its intended purpose.

Their light must dominate the day and the night. The Sun dominates the day, but not the night. So the Sun needs the Moon to reflect the sunlight onto the darkened Earth. This reflected sunlight we call moonlight, and it ensures that we can see enough to move around at night when it is Full Moon.

Jesus, the Word of God, should dominate our lives. When Jesus ascended to Heaven, the Light left the world. Then the Moon (the church) came on the scene, and their task was to reflect the Light of God’s Word. The mistake that the church made and still makes is that we reflect our own light, our own opinions. Or we reflect some other famous person’s opinions. Or we reflect the traditions of our church. All of these opinions, if not based directly on Scripture, are darkness. The Moon has no light of its own. It can only reflect the Sunlight to a world that is in darkness. Our only commission is to reflect the written Word of God. Nothing else. We have no light in ourselves, so we are only useful if we reflect the Bible, which is God's Light.

A note of caution. When the world gets between the Sun (God) and the Moon (church) then the Earth’s shadow blots out the Moon and we say the Moon is eclipsed. So worldliness blots out the testimony of Christians who should be reflecting the Word of God, rather than focusing on worldly gain and worldly fashion.

GENESIS 1:17

And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

God has set up the Bible as the ultimate and absolute Light to show us the way to Heaven. He set up the church so that the Christians would reflect the Bible to others, in both their speech and in their lifestyle.

Unfortunately, the Moon goes through phases when it reflects less and less light. The Sun never loses its brilliance. The fault is never with Jesus. The church is to blame when our Christian testimony fades.

MARK 4:16

And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

:17     And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward,

when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake,

immediately they are offended.

:18     And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

:19     And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things

entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

Christians get too focused on the temporary benefits of this life and easily lose their first love for God which they had when they first got saved. Christians, all too often, are mainly interested in material prosperity.
I TIMOTHY 6:5
Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth,

supposing that gain is godliness:

from such withdraw thyself.

People easily fall for the gospel of greed. The Prosperity Gospel.

GENESIS 1:18

And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

The Scripture tells us what is right (what is written in the Bible is the Sunlight) and what is wrong (what is not written in the Bible is spiritual darkness even if it sounds very logical to us humans  ).

For example, Communism held a cruel power over Roman Catholic Poland after World War 2 and the people suffered much material deprivation, but their faith in God was strong. Pope John Paul II played a key role in overthrowing the communist regime in Poland, which was home to many Roman Catholic believers. So all seemed well. This appeared to be a big step forward as the Catholic church helped to liberate the Christians from the Communist yoke. Then the Roman Catholic church discovered to its horror that so many of the Polish people began a mad rush to accept American materialistic ideals. Greedy for gain, the faith of many declined. Now the Catholic church fears that many of the Polish people are spiritually worse off, and actually are further away from God than they were before.

So mixing religion and politics in the Roman Catholic church seemed a good idea at the time but was not such a good idea after all.

When politics and religion combine, it sadly seems to produce a dance-of-death.

Look at the Protestant-Catholic violence in Ireland in the last century. Look at the horrific violence and brutality of ISIS and other Muslim militants.

God always waited until 1000 years had rolled by before He started His next step towards putting life on Earth.

Why is there no night in the description of a day

"Evening and morning" mean that the Bride will not go through the dark night of great Tribulation.

GENESIS 1:19

And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

There is no mention of night. So what is God trying to tell us?

Nighttime is a symbol of the 3.5 years of great Tribulation at the end of the last church age (the seventh church age). Jesus will take His church to Heaven for the Wedding Feast. He is the Light, and when the Light is no longer on Earth then the Earth will be in darkness.

JOHN 9:4   I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day:

the night cometh, when no man can work.

When Life leaves, then Death rides out into the Tribulation.

The day represents Light. The night represents Death.

REVELATION 6:8   And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

The morning would then represent the return of the Light when Jesus sets up the Millennium and rules on Earth for 1000 years with His Bride. (Hitler claimed his Third Reich would rule 1000 years, but he got it wrong as he only lasted 12 years. But you can see Who he was copying when he claimed a 1000-year rule.)

The evening would then refer to the end of the seventh church age, just before great tribulation starts, when the full Light of Scripture would be restored back on Earth. Martin Luther restored Justification, getting saved by faith. John Wesley restored Sanctification, living holy. Pentecost restored the baptism of the Holy Spirit with supernatural gifts. Then we needed a prophet to restore the Truth of Scripture.

Today there are 160 major divisions in Christianity. Out of these divisions have emerged about 45000 different kinds of denomination or non-denominational churches, all with their own different beliefs.

There are now over one hundred different versions of the Bible.

Each Christian huddles in his or her denomination and hopes that they are right. But all 45000 types of churches, with their differences, cannot be right. So the vast majority of Christians are going to end up disappointed as they do not know that they have errors in their beliefs. There are so many different opinions around that they flicker like stroboscopic lights on a stage and effectively blind us. We need an end-time prophet to show us the Truth from Scripture. The churches are too divided to achieve this.

Like Daniel's Gentile image that split into two legs and ten toes, Gentile church beliefs have multiplied in their diversity and differences.

Christians, unsure about how to properly prove their own beliefs from Scripture, find it safer to just ignore and thus reject anyone who disagrees with them.

The feet of Daniel's Gentile image represent the 2000 years of the Gentile Church ages.

The main spiritual gifts are wisdom and knowledge. The knowledge of what a Bible verse or symbol means, and the wisdom to link different verses that are in different parts of the Bible into a theme that blends them all together into a deeper revelation. Thus Christians should be able to explain Bible verses in terms of other Bible verses, instead of giving their private opinions of what they think a Scripture means.
I CORINTHIANS 12:7
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8:   For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9:   To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10:   To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11:   But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

Miracles are amazing but God places wisdom and knowledge before miracles.

Thus God regards the truth of the Bible as our first priority.

Knowing what the Bible means is very important, especially all the prophetic symbols. If we are ignorant of Scripture we will be easily fooled, especially as world events get more chaotic and churches and politicians adopt viewpoints and moralities that contradict Scripture.

So there will be light in the evening time as the Bride returns to the teachings of the first church age who obeyed the doctrine of the apostles.

ZECHARIAH 14:7

But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass,

that at EVENING time it shall be light.

REVELATION 10:7

But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

So the mystery of God is revealed during the seventh, or last, church age as the Bride returns to the beliefs of the first church age.

This is the evening time just before the darkness of great Tribulation enters.

Then God misses out on mentioning the night (the 3.5 years of great Tribulation) and moves on to the morning (the start of the Millennium reign of Jesus on Earth which is the seventh day of 1000 years that Adam failed to fulfill).

This means that God’s true church, His Bride, will not go through the 3½ years of great Tribulation. They will miss the night because during those 3½ years they will be in Heaven at the Wedding Supper where there is no night, no darkness, and no sin.

Thus the Bride of Christ will not go through the awful time of great Tribulation.

When God decided to put life on the Earth that He had created, He decided to take 7 God-days or 7000 of our years. There were no humans until the sixth day so there was no need to use human days.

So in 6000 years, God turned a lifeless, desolate planet into a Paradise. Then the 7^th day was to be for the son of God, Adam, and his bride to rule over the Earth for 1000 years. But sometime during that seventh day of 1000 years, the woman got bored with what God had provided and listened to an "exciting" new doctrine that was different from what God had said. She took her eyes off God's Word, and sin entered and Satan took over the world.

Satan has now ruled the Earth for 6000 years since he messed up God’s plan in Eden and he has turned the Paradise of Eden into a desolate killing zone, inspired by human hatreds, resulting in more than 100 million people being killed in the wars fought during the last century. Today people complacently reject the written Word of God as not being of any great importance. Does it make any difference they ask? Self-satisfied, they feel they have need of nothing, and certainly need no correction. These illusions will be shattered by the tidal wave of the 3.5 years of great Tribulation that will hit the world like a spiritual Tsunami, devastating everything. But the world will go out with a wave of fire, not water as it was in Noah's day.
II PETER 3:10
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with

a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat,

the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Now is the day of man. You can do as you like. You can believe in God, ignore God, or oppose God. You have free will.

The years of great Tribulation are the day of the Lord, when God does as He likes with sinful mankind, in order to cleanse the Earth for the Millennium.

Jesus has to destroy evil at the end of great Tribulation.

Then He sets up His Millennium kingdom. Thus Jesus, the Son of God, and His Bride, the true church, will reign on Earth for 1000 years and thus fulfill the seventh day that God originally wanted, but which the first son of God, Adam, and his bride messed up.
REVELATION 20:4
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands;

and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

The lesson we learn is that Satan can mess up and delay God’s plan, but he cannot stop God from achieving His goals. Jesus Christ is the ultimate winner. So it pays to be on His side. Who wants to back an ultimate loser like Satan?  Light will always triumph over darkness. Light can eliminate darkness but darkness cannot put out the smallest light.

Radioactive dating can give wrong results

Now let us look at the scientists’ claims for the age of the Earth that are based on radioactive dating.

Radioactive dating relies on many assumptions (which are guesses) as no one was there to witness these events. For the moment let us not discuss the technical flaws of this radioactive decay process but let us just look at some results of radioactive dating.

A student in America put a shell from a living shellfish that he had caught that morning into the radioactive dating machine and got the answer that the shellfish had been dead for 2300 years. (M S Keith and G M Anderson  16 August 1963 Radiocarbon dating: fictitious results with mollusk shells in Science, p634).

In 1991 Mrs. Joan Ahrens from Capetown did some rock paintings in her art classes. Vandals stole them from her garden and dumped them in the open country. This was the first example of indigenous Koi San rock art ever found in the open country. Oxford University’s radiocarbon accelerator is regarded as one of the world’s most accurate. They analyzed the paintings and found that they were about 1200 years old. They had actually been painted 6 months previously.

Here are two examples where we actually had a check on the origin of the samples and the radioactive dates were obviously very wrong. Mrs. Ahrens just happened to see a picture of her paintings in the newspaper and was able to tell the true story of their origin. Otherwise, historians would now have a very skew picture of South African indigenous people, based on what was supposed to be their rock art.

So lesson one in Science: do not trust a scientific date based on radioactivity as it may be very wrong.

A second problem arises: if the same sample is tested many times, you will get different dates each time. The scientist then picks the date that suits his guesswork (sorry, I mean his theory) best.

A volcano erupted in 1801 near Hualalai on the island of Hawaii. Different radioactive tests on the lava gave ages ranging from 160 million years to a staggering 3000 million years. People had recorded the explosion so there were witnesses on the scene. These scientific theoretical dates were definitely wrong for an explosion that had occurred less than 200 years before the radioactive tests were done.

Lava from the active Kilauea volcano on the Hawaii island flows down into the sea. A sample from the bottom of the sea on the seafloor was dated as 22 million years older than the same lava flow that was on the land by the seashore. But this is all recent lava as it is an active volcano. So the depth of the ocean changes the radioactive date of the lava. This dating method is obviously seriously flawed.

When scientists use uranium-lead and potassium-argon methods of dating the same samples, the resulting ages are commonly at least 45% different.

To make it worse, fossils are found in sedimentary rocks and these rocks cannot be dated by radioactive methods.

So even more guesswork has to be applied in order to indirectly date the fossils.

We have already seen how inaccurate direct radioactive dating can be. Imagine how much more error can creep in when we have to make indirect assumptions or guesses as well.

For example, a fossil tooth was found in Nebraska by geologist Harold Cook in 1922. Henry Fairfield Osborn, eminent Director of the American Museum of Natural History, saw features of man and ape in the tooth.  This was regarded as proof of the "missing link" between ape and man, which is assumed to be an apeman.

However, the serpent was the original "missing link" as it was a beast, not a reptile, and as such was the highest animal that could both talk and reason with a human. Then God cursed the serpent and turned the serpent into a snake. Thus there were no bones of the original serpent, only bones of the snake that it had been turned into. Consequently, Science will never find evidence of this missing link.

Nevertheless, an apeman, with the magnificent name Hesperopithecus, was built up around this one tooth. From the tooth, they were able to work out the shape of his face, how large his lips were and the fact that his body was covered in hair, and more importantly, that he wore no clothes. This is an impressive reconstruction when the only available evidence was a single worn tooth. Scientists can make the mistake of pushing their imagination way beyond the available data. Especially if they are anxious to "prove" some point.

This apeman was used to "prove" the factual basis for evolution at the famous Scopes trial in Tennessee in 1925. Scopes was a biology school teacher who illegally taught evolution in his classroom. Osborne was trying hard to get schools to teach evolution.  All this profound scientific knowledge was impressively used by the lawyers in defense of Scopes, who thereby got off very lightly. A few years later the American Museum excavated deeper at the site where Cook found the original tooth and discovered more of these teeth, but they were attached to their original owner, which turned out to be an extinct pig!

Hopefully, these examples will give you an idea that scientists are not necessarily right in their interpretations of the distant past.

You may want to apply a long time period to the creation of the Universe.

But you cannot apply this vast length of time to any creature that had life, as no life had yet been created.

Scientists claim that the oldest fossil-bearing rocks are in the so-called Cambrian layer. Next comes the sandstone Ordovician layer of rock that is supposed to be about 450 million years old. In a quarry near the town of London in Texas, a piece of Ordovician sandstone was found with an iron hammerhead embedded in it. Sticking out of the piece of sandstone rock was a wooden handle. The wooden handle had been partially turned to coal (partially coalified). Trees were only supposed to evolve millions of years later in the Carboniferous era that was around 300 million years ago. The only species of life on Earth that makes iron hammerheads is man. So humans and trees were thus around in the so-called earlier Ordovician era.

This indicates that we do not know how fossils form.

No scientist has ever made a fossil in a laboratory because when something dies it is destroyed by agents of putrefaction, like bacteria, before it can be turned into a fossil. These long dates allocated to fossils are very misleading. Man has not been around for that long. Scientists' interpretations of the fossil record are obviously incorrect.
ROMANS 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Death only entered planet Earth when Adam sinned. Before Adam sinned there was no death. Plants and animals cannot sin, and therefore never died before Adam sinned.

Fossils formed in the days of Noah's Flood. The layers of sand and rock and drowned animals and plants and trees were deposited in layers by the swirling turbulent waters and then compressed by the staggering weight of the water above them that covered all the mountains. There were thus kilometers of water above most of the surface of the Earth.

GENESIS 7:19  And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

:20   Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

Scientists have no experience of such conditions. That is one of the reasons that we cannot make fossils today.

The Coelacanth fish fossil is dated as supposedly 60 million years old. It was supposed to have been able to crawl onto the land because of unusual stalks that were assumed to be primitive legs. Yet a living Coelacanth, identical to the fossil, was caught in 1938 at East London in South Africa. No changes had evolved over the supposed 60 million years. This is a severe blow to the evolutionary theory. Today the Coelacanth is only found in deep-sea regions. It dies if brought up to the surface. Thus it never crawled up onto the land.

Fruit flies can breed in a fortnight. Thousands of fruit fly generations have been bred in laboratories with all sorts of different mutations, but they always remain fruit flies.

Man has bred a great range of size, shapes, and colour into his dogs. Yet there are limits beyond which this vast variety of a species cannot go, as they all remain dogs.

30000 generations of the bacteria E. coli have been studied (equivalent to about 1 million years of human history) and they remained either E. Coli bacteria or slightly modified E. Coli bacteria or slightly damaged E. Coli bacteria as they seemed to throw away chunks of their genetic ability to make some of the building blocks of RNA.

Biochemist Michael Behe actually calls this devolution, the reverse of evolution. So slight modifications within a species can occur, but no species turns into a different species. The bacteria did not turn into a fruit fly.

As we have seen from these examples, the scientific theory of evolution is not foolproof. It fails to interpret certain observed facts. So, back to the Bible.

God created the Sun, Moon, and stars which we call heaven or deep space.

Deep space is not the real Heaven that exists in a higher dimension or spirit realm that we cannot see.

Deep space just symbolizes the vast spiritual Heaven where angels dwell and where saved souls go when they die.

In the beginning, there was nothing.

No matter, no energy.

As there was nothing to begin with, there was nothing that could be used to make anything else. So the word “create” has to mean making something out of nothing. Only God can do that.

To explain creation, scientists have to start with energy that is somehow present. But energy cannot be created.

Scientists cannot tell us what energy is, nor can they tell us where the energy came from.

Only God can create energy and matter out of nothing. Jesus took five loaves and two fish and created enough food to feed 5000 people. No scientist can do that. Only God can operate outside the laws of Physics. After all, He made those laws. He made time, but He also operates outside of time. He is not limited by the laws of nature that He made. But we humans are limited by His laws.

It is an example of honest science that confines itself to analyzing data rather than indulging in speculations.

The moon Europa of Jupiter ejects hydrogen and oxygen

Scientific observations of hydrogen and oxygen gases around the moon Europa of Jupiter and the moon Enceladus of Saturn have been observed.

These are recent observations. Europa, a moon of the planet Jupiter, is covered in ice. The space probe Galileo went to Jupiter, arriving there in 1995, and later discovered evidence of saltwater below the icy surface of Europa, indicating a possible ocean below the icy surface. In 2016 the space telescope Hubble produced photographs of intermittent plumes of oxygen and hydrogen that are ejected upwards from the surface of Europa and go hundreds of kilometers into space. Because Hubble could detect the spectra of hydrogen gas and oxygen gas, scientists believed that the plumes must be water. They now want to fly a space probe through a plume to prove that it is water. In the vacuum of space, they believe that the ultraviolet rays of the sun break up the water molecules into their components of hydrogen gas and oxygen gas.

This is evidence that we have detected from space that is similar in some ways to what God did at the beginning when He took water high above the atmosphere and then separated the water molecules into hydrogen gas and oxygen gas in order to form a high-up, transparent veil of protective gases around the earth.

In addition, Saturn's sixth-largest moon Enceladus is covered in clean ice and its orbital path around Saturn has a hollow ring (called a torus) that is mostly made from neutral hydrogen gas and oxygen gas. These gases thus form a high-altitude layer that surrounds the moon Enceladus.

Thus, if the earth started as a frozen snowball, then like the moons Enceladus and Europa that are still snowballs, it would not be surprising to find the components of water, the gases hydrogen, and oxygen, high up above the Earth's surface, at the beginning.

But the atmosphere on earth had to have a critical combination of gases in order to support land life (us humans and other animals). This space between the upper waters and the lower seas is called the atmosphere and it had to be filled with an exact ratio of gases: 21 % of active oxygen gas to boost the combustion of food in our body cells as we breathe. This burning keeps us warm as our body temperature is about 37◦C.  The atmosphere needs 78% of almost inert nitrogen gas to keep everything stable so that the oxygen does not boost burning fires too much which would cause the fires to burn out of control. The Apollo 1 spacecraft in 1967 had 100% oxygen under pressure and an accidental spark caused such a fierce flame that all three astronauts were tragically killed before anyone could open the capsule door to rescue them.

If our atmosphere is very old it would have more helium

There is too little helium in the atmosphere for it to be very old.

How old is the atmosphere?

Nobel prize winner Professor Libby discovered the radioactive carbon (or radiocarbon) dating method. A normal nitrogen atom has 7 protons and 7 neutrons in the nucleus. When struck by an energetic neutron that arrives from outer space as a cosmic ray, a proton gets knocked out of the nucleus of a nitrogen atom in the air and the neutron takes its place in the atom. The atom now has 6 protons and is thus a carbon atom. The 8 neutrons are too many for carbon, which normally has 6 neutrons and 6 protons. We call this carbon-14. One of the 8 neutral neutrons goes through a complex process in which it ejects an electron with a negative charge and thus turns itself into a proton. An atom that spits out particles is called radioactive. There are now 7 protons (and 7 neutrons in the nucleus and the atom is back to being nitrogen again. We say that the carbon-14 has decayed to form normal nitrogen-14.

Libby calculated that when the earth's atmosphere somehow formed, it would take 30000 years to build up enough radioactive carbon-14 so that it would decay at the same rate that it was forming due to the cosmic ray collisions with atmospheric nitrogen. He believed the earth was about 4600 million years old and thus the atmosphere had long ago filled up with carbon-14 atoms.

The whole theory of radioactive carbon dating depends on this assumption or guess.

But when Libby did tests he found that the amount of carbon-14 that forms in the atmosphere was 25% more than what was decaying. Richard Lingenfelter in 1963, and Hans Suess of the University of Southern California writing in the Journal of Geophysical Research in 1965, and V R Switzer writing in Science in 1967 confirmed this result. So the atmosphere is still filling up with carbon-14. That means that the atmosphere is not 30000 years old yet.

Professor Libby refused to believe this so he just ignored the evidence against his theory and dismissed it as an experimental error.

Swedish Gold Medal Prize winner Professor Melvin Cook from Utah University reviewed the data of Suess and Lingenfelter and calculated that carbon-14 is actually forming 38% faster than it decays. If the earth was 30000 years old then the carbon-14 would decay and form at the same rate.

If it forms faster than it decays it means the atmosphere is not yet 30000 years old.

Forming 38% faster than it decays means that the atmosphere is more likely to be 10000 years old.

If the earth is 4600 million years old then the atmosphere must be full of helium gas caused by the radioactive decay of uranium in the rocks. Uranium is radioactive and spits out the nucleus of a helium atom as it turns step by step into lead. But 99,96 % of all this amount of helium gas is missing in the atmosphere.

Scientists say that helium, being very light, has escaped from the earth into space. But nobody has observed this process.

Space scientist James Lovelock in his book Gaia: A New Look at Life on Earth, writes that the outer edge of the earth's atmosphere actually merges with the equally thin outer atmosphere of the sun. We tend to forget that the sun is endlessly shooting out protons (which make hydrogen gas) and helium atoms, which we call the solar wind. In the sun, hydrogen atoms are endlessly squeezed together to form helium gas. Thus the sun is surrounded by a vast, thin atmosphere of hydrogen and helium gas that reaches out beyond the earth.

As a result, the earth orbits the sun in an atmosphere of the sun's hydrogen and helium.

There are some strange aspects of the solar wind which we cannot explain. As the solar wind of hydrogen and helium particles gets further from the sun, this solar wind speeds up for unknown reasons.

Then the faster solar wind that is further from the sun is found to have more helium, which is heavier than hydrogen. We do not know why the helium sets the speed for the solar wind.

The acceleration of the solar wind from the poles of the sun is too fast for us to explain within the first solar radius of the sun's atmosphere. Thermal (heat) energy alone cannot do it. Since 2016 the NASA Parker Solar Probe has been trying to solve this high initial acceleration rate.

Lovelock measured that the earth gains more hydrogen from the sun than what it loses to space.

Because helium is heavier than hydrogen, the same result will apply to helium as there is more helium relative to the hydrogen this far from the sun.

The upper atmosphere changes regularly but unpredictably due to solar activity and other issues.

The European Space Agency's Cluster mission of four linked satellites has produced evidence that the solar wind can more easily infiltrate the earth's magnetic field (called the magnetosphere) than was previously believed.

Annual coronal mass ejections from the sun hurl huge quantities of hydrogen and helium at high speeds into our upper atmosphere.

So if all the earth's helium is not escaping out to space, then it is still in our atmosphere. The amount of helium in the earth's atmosphere is only 0,035 %  of what would collect in 4600 million years.

But a lot of this helium in our atmosphere has been gained from the sun, not just from the decay of earth's uranium. Thus the atmosphere has to be much, much younger than 4600 million years.
