Chapter 40 is compared to Matthew
There are 66 Books in the Bible. There are 66 chapters in Isaiah. So Isaiah seems to represent the Bible.
Let us look at the division between the Old and New Testaments.
There are 39 Books in the Old Testament, so Matthew is the 40th Book, which starts the New Testament.
Let us compare Matthew, the 40th Book of the Bible, with Isaiah Chapter 40.
Father is the Spirit Who guides the Man Who is the Son
Matthew starts with a direct quote from a prophecy in Isaiah Chapter 40.
Matthew 3: 1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
:3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying,
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord,
make his paths straight.
(Esaias is simply the Greek spelling of the Hebrew name Isaiah.)
In Hebrew they called God Yahweh and often shortened this name to Yah. So they liked to add the "–ah" onto their own names. Hence Isaiah
ISAIAH 40: 3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD,
make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
This same prophecy is repeated in Matthew. This is too accurate to be a co-incidence.
When Jesus came to earth, the Godhead became a major problem area for people to understand.
The Old Testament Jews could recognize Almighty God as the Father, as long as He was a Spirit. But not when He came as a Man, Jesus, who was called the Son of God.
The Old Testament never says "God the Father". Trinitarians do not know why.
The Bible never says "God the Son". Trinitarians also do not know why.
In the Old Testament, the humanity of God was veiled within His supernatural Spirit.
In the New Testament, God the Father was veiled within the Man Jesus.
So Matthew introduces the Son of the virgin as Emmanuel, God with us.
MATTHEW 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Matthew just repeats what Isaiah had already prophesied. But this is impossible. How can a virgin conceive a son?
ISAIAH 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
God can do the impossible.
God became so small that He wrapped a single fertilized human cell around Himself inside the womb of Mary. This first human cell was the Son of God. God was the Life that was in the cell.
HEBREWS 2:16… but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
The seed of a man is the half-cell that combines with the half-cell egg of a woman.
But in this case God created both the seed and the egg.
This was Abraham’s faith seed. Abraham’s faith united with Mary’s faith to produce the promised Son.
HEBREWS 10:5 … but a body hast thou prepared me:
God then created this perfect little Body cell by cell. Mary was just the incubator.
No part of Mary was used to make the Baby.
But all the time the Spirit of God was hidden inside this developing Baby.
ISAIAH 45:15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.
God, hidden inside a developing foetus. No one expected this, nor could anyone believe this. Even the Devil was fooled.
This process would be impossible for man to achieve. But God does the impossible.
But this Baby is also God the Father, because the everlasting Spirit of the Father lived inside the Baby.
ISAIAH 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
The infinite God achieved the impossible by wrapping Himself inside a finite human Body.
For the first time Deity was superimposed on humanity. God and Man, two opposites, had combined and were entangled with each other.
This is similar to natural light that behaves like a wave (that ripples out in all directions) and as a particle (that only moves in one direction at any instance in time).
The wave energy moves in all directions as it spreads out on the surface of the water.
The particle (the cork bullet) only moves in one direction.
How do scientists handle these two opposite behaviours of light?
- When they think of light as a particle, they ignore its wave behavior.
- Then when they think of light as a wave, they ignore its particle behavior.
Jesus called Himself the Light of the world.
John 8: 12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world.
So when you think of Jesus as a Man, do not think of Him as being God at that instant.
Then when Jesus behaves like God, do not think of Him being a Man at that instant.
So Matthew introduces Jesus to the Jews as God walking around in the Body of a human Man. The Spirit of God inside Him is God the Father. The physical Man that enclosed the Spirit of God is the Son of God.
The Old Testament Jews could picture God as a supernatural Spirit, but not as a Man walking around amongst men.
So Isaiah stressed the Deity of Jesus more than other prophets did. He wanted to convince everyone that the Jehovah of the Old Testament wrapped a human body of flesh around Himself, and became the Jesus of the New Testament.
Another deep mystery for the Trinitarians is that God used the name Jehovah in the Old Testament but the New Testament never uses the name of Jehovah.
Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
God is a Spirit, not flesh and blood. Thus the Man Jesus is the Son of God, a creation. But inside this Man dwelt the fullness of the Godhead bodily. God the Father (the invisible Spirit) dwelt inside the human Son of God, the Man Jesus.
John 14:10 ….. but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Jesus somehow fused Man and God into one Person
Isaiah 40: 18 To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?
We humans cannot find anyone that we can compare to God.
Humans cannot make a likeness or image of God.
Anything we made would be totally inadequate.
Isaiah makes it clear that it is impossible for us to combine both man and God into one Person.
Somehow Jesus was able to achieve this miraculous fusion of two complete opposites.
Jesus is Man and God. This is impossible to comprehend.
When Jesus sails in a boat over the water, think of Him as a Man and not as God. Do not ask why God needs a boat.
When Jesus walks on the water, think of Him as God and not as a Man. Do not ask how a Man can stand on water.
Somehow, these two impossible opposites are held together in Jesus Christ. No one else can achieve this. So no person can be compared to Jesus Christ.
MATTHEW 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
ISAIAH 40:9 O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
MATTHEW 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
ISAIAH 40:25 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
ISAIAH 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Christians were able to recognize Jesus as a Man but then began to struggle to see Him as Almighty God as well.
Around 200 AD the Roman Catholic scholar Tertullian began to adopt the pagan Babylonian ideas and Greek philosophy of a Trinity of one God in three Persons. The Trinity belief had spread to Egypt and India.
An attempt to visualize the Hindu trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Siva.
Or does their trinity look like this?
Big problems arose with trying to picture this fuzzy concept of Three-in-One yet the “Three are One”.
Three-in-One, One-in-three, three Persons of the Godhead, the second Person of the Godhead, Father and Son are of the same essence, the three are co-equal but different. Scholars applied the logic of Greek philosophy to the problem of the Trinity, despite the fact that none of these statements are written in the Bible. To this day the Trinity remains a mystery. We only understand when we see a picture of something. But the Trinity refuses to reveal a clear-cut picture of the Godhead.
The Egyptians chose the first option for their trinity, three people sitting on a throne. They used the initials I H S on their altar cloths to stand for Isis, Horus and Seb.
This tradition is still copied by some of the denominations.
Isis is the mother. Horus is the father and Seb is the son in one of the Egyptian trinities.
But problems remain in trying to tie the idea of Trinity into the Bible.
“God the Father” is Scriptural but only in the New Testament, but the Bible never speaks of “God the Son” - only of the “Son of God”. The Trinity doctrine cannot explain this, nor can it explain why “God the Holy Spirit” is never mentioned in Scripture. Yet the Trinity doctrine states the unscriptural phrases “God the Son” and “God the Holy Spirit” quite happily.
In the New Testament, at the Nicene council of 325 AD, the Christians could recognize Jesus as a Man, the Son of God. They could also recognize Jesus as being God but denied that He could also be God the Father. Thus the emperor Constantine made the Trinity of three Persons as being one God, the official belief of the Roman Catholic church.
This picture defines the Roman Catholic doctrine of the Trinity.
Note the triple crown of the Pope on the head of God the Father.
But different Catholics see the picture differently, picturing the Holy Spirit as a dove.
Some picture the Father as big, holding a smaller Jesus on His lap. Jesus then holds a smaller dove on His lap.
Realizing that the Godhead is going to be a major problem area in the Gentile church, Isaiah now stresses the Godhead in the next six chapters to try to keep the Christians on track.
The Trinity concept stopped Christians from believing that Jesus is Almighty God.
REVELATION 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ,...
REVELATION 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Chapter 41 compared to the Gospel of Mark
Mark makes a practical example of the Godhead.
Jesus speaks to the two disciples James and John who both wanted to be important and sit on His right hand and left hand side in Heaven.
Mark 10 :40 But to sit on My right hand and on My left hand is not mine to give: but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.
But claiming that Jesus sits on the right hand of God means that no-one can sit on His left hand. But someone will sit on His left hand. Thus the Trinity viewpoint is wrong.
The Trinity in Heaven as the denominations see it.
But this is the picture that Jesus gives us. There is an empty throne on either side of him.
So what happened to God the Father Who is on the left hand side of Jesus, according to the Trinity?
Mark explains.
Mark 14: 62 ye shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power.
The right hand is just a symbol to represent power.
God is a Spirit. A Spirit does not have any shape nor a right hand.
Mark 12:29 Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord.
There is only one Lord. The Lord is the first and the last.
ISAIAH 41:4 … I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he.
Revelation 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:
These Scriptures do not speak of Jesus as the second.
So Jesus is always first. He cannot be demoted to only being the second Person of the Godhead.
Chapter 42 compared to the Gospel of Luke
Luke 22: 69 Hereafter shall the Son of Man sit on the right hand of the power of God
Again, the right hand is not a part of God’s Body. It is a symbol of power. A Spirit does not have body parts. God is a Spirit and has no visible shape, thus He has no visible right hand. But the indwelling Father uses the Body of Jesus to make visible His power.
ISAIAH 42:13 The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man,
No man, before or since, can compete with the power of Jesus Christ whom Luke presents as the ideal Man.
hn Chapter 43 compared to the Gospel of John
ISAIAH 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
No savior sits or stands beside God or next to God.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit:
I John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time.
No one can claim to see God standing next to Jesus because no one has ever seen the invisible Spirit of God.
John 8: 24 if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins
John 8: 58 Before Abraham was, I am
“I am” describes how God introduced Himself to Moses.
EXODUS 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
John 10: 30 I and My Father are one
John 10: 33 Thou, being a man, makest thyself God
John 14: 10 The Father that dwelleth in Me, He doeth the works.
The Body of the Man Jesus was created, and that part is not God. It was the Spirit of God that dwelt inside Him that made Him God. The inner Spirit and the outer flesh combine to make one Person.
Chapter 44 compared to the Book of Acts
The four Gospels stand like bodyguards around the Book of Acts. These are the Acts of the Holy Spirit Who was living inside the disciples.
ISAIAH 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts;
I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
Reubens, the great Catholic artist, shows Jesus, who is God, beside Jehovah God in the Trinity.
Isaiah says that this picture is wrong. There is no God beside Jehovah God.
Saul, on his way to Damascus, saw a blinding vision of Jesus.
The Acts 9: 5 And (Saul) said, Who art Thou Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus.
An Old Testament Jew like Saul would only say that Jehovah is Lord.
So the Jehovah of the Old Testament is the Jesus of the New Testament.
Jesus said
MATTHEW 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
He expected the disciples to teach us the Name of Father, Son and Holy Ghost because these are three titles.
So this is how Peter taught us to obey the commandment of Jesus.
ACTS 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
The Book of Acts launched the early church as those disciples knew that Jesus was Almighty God.
During the great Tribulation the two prophets Moses and Elijah will bring the Jews to the revelation that Jesus is Almighty God.
REVELATION 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God,
and the song of the Lamb,
saying, Great and marvellous are thy works,
Lord God Almighty;
just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
:4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name?
for thou only art holy:
Moses, in the Tribulation, says that the Lamb is Lord God Almighty and He alone is holy. This would exclude the Father and the Holy Spirit from being holy if they are separate People.
Thus the two prophets preach the Godhead doctrine that Jesus alone is Lord God Almighty. All the saved Christians who do not believe this will learn it from those two prophets in the Tribulation. That means that if you believe in the Trinity you will be in the great Tribulation in order to get the Godhead doctrine straightened out.
Now that the church has to go out to convert the world, God has to warn them about their main enemy : Rome.
First the Roman emperors of the Roman empire would kill 3 million Christians.
Then the Roman Popes of the Roman Catholic church would kill 68 million non-Catholics.
The Roman emperors adopted the title of Pontiff which made each emperor high priest of the Babylonian mysteries. Then the Roman Pope took over the title of Pontiff. Thus the Roman Catholic church would be infiltrated by the Babylonian beliefs and traditions. The Roman Catholic mother church would spread these ideas to her Protestant daughters.
Chapter 45 compared to the Book of Romans
The Romans were the ancient enemies of the early church. Paul is warning against their pagan gods.
ISAIAH 45:21 … and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
There is no Saviour sitting beside God.
God, dwelling in the human body of Jesus, is the Saviour.
Romans 1: 25 served the creature more than the Creator
The Roman Catholics claim that Peter is promoted up to be the gatekeeper that lets you into Heaven. People now serve the Pope because they think he is Peter’s representative.
Catholics believe that Peter opens the gate for them into Heaven. The Pope believes that Peter will only let you into Heaven if you have been obedient to the Pope.
Romans 2: 11 For there is no respect of persons with God
There is no Pope or cardinal or archbishop in the Bible. God does not elevate people.
Romans 10: 17 faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God
Romans 14: 23 for whatsoever is not of faith is sin
Anything different to the Bible is wrong. Pope, cardinal, archbishop, denomination, and mass are unscriptural and thus wrong.
Chapter 46 compared to the First Book of Corinthians
Corinthians is a Book of correction for straightening out our beliefs.
Paul is trying to keep Christians focused that Jesus is Almighty God.
ISAIAH 46:5 To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?
A Trinity Godhead will lead Christians off into the errors of Greek philosophy. Three different Persons in the Godhead Who are all co-equal. Three-in-one. One-in-three. There are no Bible verses that say this!
I Corinthians 15: 47 the second man is the Lord from heaven
I Corinthians 2: 8 for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory
Where was God when Jesus died? He was inside Jesus.
Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son
II Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself,
Paul also tries to straighten out the major Christian error of splitting up into different groups with different names. This later became the spirit of denominations who called themselves Catholic, Lutheran, Anglican etc
1 Corinthians 1: 11 there are contentions among you
1 Corinthians 1: 12 every one of you saith, I am of Paul and I of Apollos, and I of Cephas
These denominational groupings produced the major error which is human leadership of the church. Different church leaders make up their own rules and beliefs which are not written in the Bible.
No Scripture says that the pastor is the head of the church.
The word “pastor” is only mentioned once in the New Testament.
ISAIAH 46:6 They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship.
In the Old Testament, man-made objects were worshiped. In the New Testament, man-made commandments became the doctrines that have to be believed in order to worship God.
Different denominations evolved different doctrines and ways of worship that are not written in the Bible. Christianity has split up like the toes of Daniel’s image as different men came up with different unscriptural ideas.
MATTHEW 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Chapter 47 compared to the Second Book of Corinthians
Clever denominational errors fool us.
Roman Catholicism absorbed the mysteries of Babylon and became the first denomination.
ISAIAH 47:1 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon,
The Protestant churches came out from the mother Catholic church. Originally they focused on being Scriptural and were virgin daughters. But in their zeal to build up followers, money, and power it did not take long before the Protestants became denominations with man-made rules and beliefs, just like the Catholics.
II Corinthians 6: 14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers
II Corinthians 6: 17 come out from among them and be ye separate
II Corinthians 11: 14 for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light
So the Devil can spin a convincing doctrine. But he cannot follow it all the way through Scripture.
And he ignores the Scriptures that contradict his beliefs.
II Corinthians 13: 1 In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
You must be able to run your beliefs through different places in the Bible, not just rely on interpreting one verse.
A woman represents a church. As the churches got away from Scripture, so Christian women would finally strip themselves with an obsession to display their legs and then wear miniskirts.
ISAIAH 47: 2 …. make bare the leg, uncover the thigh…
ISAIAH 47: 3 Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen:
II Corinthians 11: 3 as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtility.
Eve, a woman, represents the church. Paul warns us that the church is easily fooled by the serpent that represents the Devil.
Chapter 48 compared to the Book of Galatians
Christians get saved and then rapidly get involved with dubious beliefs that are not written in the Bible.
Galatians 1: 6 …ye are so soon removed…unto another gospel
Error starts right after getting saved. The next step after getting saved is baptism.
Paul went to Ephesus where he was to lay the foundation for the seven church ages, as he was the messenger to the Ephesian church age. Paul baptized believers this way:
Acts 19: 5 …they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus
Galatians 1: 9 If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed
ISAIAH 48:1 Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah,
which swear by the name of the LORD,
and make mention of the God of Israel,
but not in truth,
nor in righteousness.
It is not safe to disagree with Paul. The baptism is part of the Gospel. But hardly anyone does baptism the way that Paul did. Like the Galatians, we are soon removed from the baptism of the apostles.
We mention the Name of God, but not in truth. Why is this?
We no longer have a Name for God because we hide God’s Name behind the three titles: Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
There are three "Persons" in the Trinity but we only two have Names.
According to the Trinity, God the Father is often called Jehovah. God the Son is Jesus. God the Holy Ghost has no Bible Name.
Two Names for three co-equal Persons is not convincing.
But now try and come up with one Name for all three Persons. That is Impossible.
So Christians have simply lost and forgotten the Name of their God.
PSALM 44:20 If we have forgotten the name of our God,
or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
As a smokescreen Christians always say, “ in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” but they can never tell us what that Name is.
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are merely titles. Taken separately or together, they never form a Name.
So the Christian God seems to have no Name.
The Christians have borrowed the Trinity Godhead from Babylon. This gives Christians a very strange God.
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
What is the Name of Father, Son and Holy Ghost?
Paul answered that question by baptizing in the Name of the Lord Jesus.
Thus the Lord Jesus Christ is the human Name of God.
The Galatians had other problems too.
Galatians 4: 9 – 10 how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements , whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days and months, and times .…
Christians are in bondage as they have to observe Christmas time on the 25th day of the month December.
“Christmas” is an unscriptural word for an unscriptural date, copied from the pagan sun god.
Is it a surprise that an unscriptural Christmas tree is the focus of attention?
ISAIAH 48: 20 Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans
Get right away from the denominational errors that Roman Catholicism brought in from the mysteries of Babylon which was in the land of the Chaldeans. Our Easter egg was copied from the Babylonian Ishtar egg. Their goddess Ishtar came down in an egg onto the Euphrates river and hatched out.
Her legend spread far and wide.
Paul has pointed out that Christians are easily fooled and much in need of correction. We face a powerful enemy in Rome which is infiltrated by subtle Babylonian beliefs and Greek philosophy. We Christians need to be very careful. Our present complacent attitude that we are fine and in need of no correction borders on arrogance. We need to be humble and remain aware that we face an extremely clever and dangerous enemy.
Next we will look at the seven Church Ages and see some of the damage that the Devil has done to the church down through the ages.
